Etihad introduce le nanny a bordo dei propri aerei


Qual'è la diversità rispetto ai cabin crew che volano insieme ai minori non accompagnati? Io ricordo che quando avevo 10/12 (forse anche 13) anni ed andavo a trovare mia mamma a NYC o mia nonna a CPT avevo la hostess tutta per me, sia con AZ che con BA.
 
Io ho volato varie volte UM (unaccompanied minor) nella seconda meta' anni cinquanta e primi anni sessanta. Sia AZ, BOAC e Pan Am avevano un assitente di volo dedicata agli UM fino ai dieci anni. Niente di nuovo sotto il sole

Leggendo sul sito sembra che abbiano fatto un corso specifico per nannies in Inghilterra.
 
Bhè, qui però non mi sembra ci sia molto in comune con i servizi agli UM!

Stiamo parlando di personale aggiuntivo rispetto al normale crew che ha come compito esclusivo quello di intrattenere i pargoli (in modo da fare rilassare i genitori o per assicurarsi che non scassino lo scassabile agli altri pax??).

Continuo a non capire, però, come funzioni materialmente il servizio. Passano nel corridoio? Si caricano i bambini da qualche parte?
 
Nella vecchia Lauda Air Italy uno degli AV (uno dei 3 non certificati a bordo e in training) oltre a fare tutto quello che doveva fare era anche designato come "baby care hostess", ovvero doveva occuparsi delle famiglie con infant, montare e smontare culle, stare dietro alle loro esigenze, riscaldare pappete etc. Non era esclusivamente dedicato, ma era colui/colei che se ne occupava.

Hai solo 22 anni e già viaggi in F class? Sei il mio idolo, allora.
Io ho viaggiato da solo 10 anni fa, quando avevo 13 anni, e mia sorella 15 non compiuti, ed abbiamo viaggiato come normali passeggeri.
 
Upset child ? Send for Flying Nanny
Mary Poppins, of course, was the original flying nanny. But now she has company, thanks to an initiative from Etihad Airways. Instead of an oversized carpet bag and a giant umbrella, these childcare experts can be identified by bright orange aprons and back packs to produce a variety of tricks and skills to keep even the most restless young traveller entertained at 11,000 metres. The "Flying Nanny" is the latest service launched by the airline to help families, particularly single parents and unaccompanied travelling minors, so that have someone they can turn to on flights.




Long-haul Etihad flights to have Flying Nanny
Etihad Airways has launched a dedicated in-flight child care assistance programme for families, after the introduction of a new Flying Nanny on board long haul flights. Identified by bright orange aprons, each Flying Nanny aims to provide a ‘helping hand’ to families and unaccompanied minors. They will also introduce children to the exciting collectable Etihad characters — Zoe the bee, Jamool the camel, Kundai the lion, and Boo the panda — who accompany them on their trip. During the past two months, 300 Etihad Airways cabin crew members have completed enhanced training for the role. A further 60 will be trained in September and 500 Flying Nannies will be working across Etihad Airways flights by the end of 2013.
