Introducing easyJetText
easyJetText is a new service from easyJet delivering free flight information and reminders to your mobile phone on your departure day, keeping you up-to-date and reducing hassle.
Departure day information and reminders
On departure day, easyJetText keeps you updated by sending the following SMS text messages:

We'll confirm your flight details, booking reference and departure time approximately 4 hours before departure We'll let you know shortly before check-in closes (remember to mention or show your booking reference at check-in) We'll send you a reminder when it's time to go to the boarding gate.

Great retail offers
easyJetText gets you a great deal at the airport shops, giving you fabulous exclusive offers for the day that you travel.
easyJetText sends you up to 2 exclusive offers from relevant airport retailers. Typically, these offers will contain a voucher code at the end of the text message. To benefit from the offer you will need to show the text message and a voucher code (if supplied) to the retailer when you pay at the till.
Signing-up is easy!

To take advantage of easyJetText, simply click the sign-up link in your invitation email, confirm your personal details and tell us your mobile phone number (if we don't have it already).We use this information solely for running the easyJetText service and never pass on your details to any third party without your express permission.
At any time, if you change your mind, you can unsubscribe by following the link in your easyJetText confirmation email. Or, on departure day, simply reply STOP to any of our text messages to opt-out of further communication. Either action will remove you from the easyJetText service. Note that this will not remove you from the other easyJet.com databases.
And remember, easyJetText is completely free - it won't cost you a penny to receive our text messages (for UK or European registered mobile phones. Other mobile phone costs depend on your network operator).

How do I sign-up?
Simply click the sign-up link in your invitation email, confirm your details and tell us your mobile phone number (if we don't have it already).

How much does easyJetText cost?
If you have a UK or European registered mobile phone, easyJetText is completely free it won't cost you a penny to receive our text messages.

It may be possible to use the service with a non-European mobile phone, but you should check with your network operator before using the service - they may charge you to receive text messages from the UK, and these charges may be expensive.
What information will I receive?
On your departure day, easyJetText will communicate by sending SMS text messages to the mobile phone number you specified when you signed up for the service. You'll receive the following messages:

* We'll confirm your flight details and departure time approximately 4 hours before departure
* We'll let you know shortly before check-in closes
* We'll send you a reminder when it's time to board

As an additional service, we'll also send you up to 2 exclusive promotional offers from relevant airport retailers via text message.
How do I redeem retail offers?
easyJetText sends you up to 2 exclusive offers from relevant airport retailers. To benefit from the offer you will need to show the text message and a voucher code (if supplied) to the retailer when you pay at the till.
What if I don't want to use easyJetText after all?
At any time, if you change your mind, you can unsubscribe by following the link in your easyJetText confirmation email. What flights is easyJetText available on?
easyJetText is currently available on all routes from London Gatwick and London Stansted, selected routes from Bristol, 1 route from Edinburgh, and 1 route from Glasgow.
When will it be available on other flights?
Over the next 6 months we will extend easyJetText to other flights from London Gatwick, London Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, then to many other of easyJet's UK airports: Belfast, East Midlands, Liverpool, Luton, and Newcastle as well as our biggest European airports: Basel Mulhouse, Geneva, Madrid, Milan Malpensa, Berlin, Dortmund, and Paris Orly.
Will easyJetText tell me if my flight is delayed?
Currently, easyJetText provides information and reminders about your flight. In the future, we may extend the service to notify you of any delays. Please always check the airport departure boards to see if your flight is delayed or if there are any other changes relevant to your flight. It is your responsibility to be at the boarding gate on time (no later than 30 minutes before scheduled departure).
I've cancelled my flight; will you still send me the text messages?
No. Don't worry if you're travel plans have changed. We don't send text messages to passengers who have cancelled their booking.
Is my personal data safe?
Yes, we comply with the strict rules of the EU data protection act. We can guarentee that we'll never pass on or sell your personal data to any third parties.

Peccato, se sai quando diventa disponibile in Italia avvisami che mi iscrivo subito...
Anche tu come me vedo che viaggi spesso con U2, hai per caso fatto la carta Easyjetplus? Io la stavo valutando, per te è utile, ne vale la pena?
 
Ma a dire il vero io sono semplicemente iscritto sul portale nel myeasyjet e sono loro che mi mandano quell'avviso quando parto da UK. Hai volato recentemente da UK verso Italia? Perchè non capisco se è che dipende dal fatto che ho registrato il mio cell inglese ed è per quello...

easyJetplus...no assolutamente è una cavolata a mio avviso. A me non me ne frega nulla di partire in testa e di avere una ipotetica fila dedicata al checkin, sopratutto che viaggio spesso con hand baggage e a MXP i banchi sono numerosi. Se facessero che tipo la tessera costasse 100euro e ti da bagagli da stivare illimitati la farei...

Da dove si può accedere a questa pagina? Dalla sezione il mio Easyjet? L'iscrizione va fatta per ogni singolo volo o è una tantum?
 
Sembriamo gli unici 2 interessati nel servizio! Ho visto che pare attivabile anche con cellulari non inglesi.. boh!

Comunque anche sul sito U2 nella versione inglese non trovo nessuna pubblicità del servizio, se non lo fanno conoscere anche i potenziali pax interessati non lo sapranno mai, forse è ancora in fase di test e aspettano a pubblicizzarlo.
 
Di solito lo pubblicizzano via email...a me sempre successo cosi. Comunque una fase di test un po' lunga direi... Se vedi il mio primo post di questo servizio data Febbraio 2008!
