China Airlines to offer Osaka Kansai service to New York
China Airlines is to offer a new alternative 1-stop service to New York (JFK), citing Osaka Kansai (KIX) is a better option in replacing Anchorage (ANC) due to the time saved and amount of fuel reduced. The service is now dated to begin on 29APR11.

Refurbished 744 will be used on this route with 70J and 319Y.
Existing services to Osaka Kansai will be kept.
This service will replace the current Anchorage 1-stop service.
It's most likely going to be 21J seats filled in it's existing 14F area near the nose and similar 49J seats compare to the current 74C. Therefore, it could be quite cramp and... not flat seats (given how EVA Airways only fits 12 seats in the same area). J will also get an interior refurbish. Nothing changes for Y in terms of number of seats. However, both J and Y will feature the new AVOD.
Anchorage to say good bye to the last scheduled transpacific passenger service carrier.
