Nessuna altra compagnia ha cancellato voli oggi da Bristol, eccetto un volo BA per EDI, annullato per altri motivi.

Cmq, il motivo è che easyJet ritiene che la pista di BRS sia insicura.

Ryanair, British, Air Southwest, KLM, Continental, Aer Arann, Eastern Airways e tutte le compagnie charter non hanno fatto alcuna rimostranza circa le condizioni della pista di Bristol e stanno difatti operando in maniera regolare il loro consueto programma dei voli.

easyJet announces that it has cancelled all flights to and from Bristol International Airport this morning following concerns over the reliability of the newly resurfaced runway in wet weather conditions.

The safety of its passengers, crew and aircraft is easyJet’s first priority and this decision has been taken following extensive discussions with Bristol International Airport and the UK Civil Aviation Authority.

Customers are entitled to a refund of the fare paid or a free transfer onto another easyJet flight within the next month.

To claim a refund customers should call easyJet customer services on 08712 442366 to make a transfer please visit www.easyjet.com and log on to My easyJet.com.

Customers are asked to refer to the website for information, a further update will be provided later today.
 
Strana questa decisione... cioè perchè proprio U2 rinuncia al decollo per scarsa sicurezza? Alla fine, essendo una low cost, avrebbe molto più interesse delle altre a partire (a maggior ragione se la diretta concorrente parte). Di conseguenza se le altre compagnie ritengono di avere margini minimi per operare perchè non fa lo stesso anche U2? Che ci sia altro?
 
Caro mio...bisogna vededere che c'è sotto...
che ne sai tu che magari la vera ragione delle cancellazioni non sia un simpatico rinnovo degli accordi con la soc di gestione??
U2 mica potrebbe dire: "signori...oggi non voliamo perchè...siamo in fase di rinnovo contrattuale e vogliamo avere degli sconti sull'handling da parte della soc di gestione...e in questo modo tentiamo di mettere alle strette la soc di gestione":D:D:D

...chiaramente la mia è solo una ipotesi di fantasia...ma a volte a pensar male ci si azzecca:D:D:D(anche perchè la storia della pista sembra poco plausibile)

Following concerns over the reliability of the newly resurfaced runway in wet weather conditions, easyJet regrets to announce that most flights to and from Bristol today have been cancelled, with the exception of the following flights which will be diverted to Cardiff International:


EZY 448 Belfast - Bristol
EZY 452 Belfast - Bristol
EZY 569 Newcastle - Bristol
EZY 573 Newcastle - Bristol
EZY 572 Bristol - Newcastle

Transfers from Cardiff to Bristol will be provided by easyJet.

Passengers should check in at Bristol International Airport and will be transferred to Cardiff.

The safety of its passengers, crew and aircraft is easyJet’s first priority and this decision has been taken following extensive discussions with Bristol International Airport and the UK Civil Aviation Authority.

As rain is forecast for Saturday 6 January, easyJet will operate a large proportion of its services in and out of Cardiff International Airport. Passengers will be required to check in at Bristol International Airport as normal and will be transferred across to Cardiff. A list of the flights the airline plans to operate tomorrow will be posted on the website later this afternoon.

Customers are entitled to a refund of the fare paid or a free transfer onto another easyJet flight within the next month.

da monitorare gli sviluppi...

potrebbe mancare qualche pezzo di carta a riguardo della nuova pista oppure riguardo alle procedure di valutazione dell'azione frenante...
 
Sia oggi che domani, i voli easyJet che non verranno cancellati, saranno operati da e per Cardiff con check-in obbligatorio a Bristol e trasferimento in bus per l'imbarco verso l'aeroporto gallese.

Per quanto riguarda i voli per oggi sull'Italia, easyJet ha annullato il Bristol-Venezia-Bristol mentre il volo da Ciampino opera appunto da e per Cardiff.
 
ahiaiai sono di nuovo costretto a citare un noto sito, al quale posso di nuovo accedere dopo che e' scaduto il blocco al'IP che mi era stato ingiustamente comminato tempo fa (bloccando tra l'altro tutti clienti fastweb)

In sostanza c'e un pezzo di 300m la cui copertura non e' stata ancora 'incisa' (non so come si dica) per far evacuare l'acqua. Quando si arriva li' ed ha piovuto abbastanza come spesso avviene in quelle albioniche terre, l'acquaplaning e' assicurato, l'a/m addirittura accelera. Alcuni a/m in particolare come il jumbolino, privo di reverse thrust, hanno maggiori difficolta' di altri ed alcuni sono andati lunghi.

Le uniche compagnie che continuano ad operare regolarmente su Bristol sono : Continental, Ryanair, Astraeus, Air Southwest, Aer Arann e Eastern Airways.

Tutte le altre, stanno operando i propri voli da/per Cardiff e Birmingham, con cambi di operativo.

Solo British Airways e easyJet hanno cancellato alcuni voli.
