Biman plane crashes in Yangon airport
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane has crashed on landing this evening on the runway at Yangon International Airport, aviation sources told The Myanmar Times.
The S2-AGQ - Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 was seen in pictures received by The Myanmar Times lying on the grass near the runway. Dhaka-headquartered Biman Bangladesh Airlines, known as Biman, is the national flag carrier of Bangladesh.
Posts on social media suggest that the aircraft skid off the runway. Both wings of the plane appear to be broken and fire fighters were at the site.
A source from the airport confirmed that the incident took place during landing. There are no fatalities so far. No information on the number of injuries was immediately available.
