Hi gents,

In occasion with another shooting in Bavaria of the 50 years anniversary Tornado IDS and even the mighty F-4 Phantom the WTD 61, we traveled Tuesday and Wednesday to Bavaria, as the wx forecast was more as good for yesterday.

And as the planning for this shooting lasts already since last January 2010 and due to weather and other factors, Tuesday we were able to shoot over day and even during a brilliant sunset into a incredible "magic hour"......
My main focus where both special colored anniv. aircraft which are now in use as instructional airframes within the WTD 61.

So my decision was easy...driving down to Bavaria to spent Tuesday and Wednesday in the southern sunny part of Germany to shoot these beauties!

My special thanks must go to everyone involved, and of course my host unit the WTD 61, and all the air and ground crews that worked hard to prepare the specially adorned Tornado IDS and F-4f, and make this shooting to happen..... from illuminate the jet, technicians who were responsible for switching on all lights on both a/c, etc. and everyone did an extraordinary job!!!
Both jets got there splendid special c/s for the airshow which took place in Manching Sept. 15, 2007 and for example the F-4 had the last "phlight" Oct 24, 2008 and since then they are both used as instructional airframes on base and have been not "scrapped"

Here you will find my personal highlights from the visit in Manching, as both special colored a/c have been my main focus during this visit off course.
All the hard work has paid off, and the results are these great images.
And with plenty of sun that day in Manching both days, it was a great scenery.... and as there was still a bit of spare time, we spent some time to shoot some locals before the nighshooting started.
Especially Manching is a great place with so many different a/c flying around there...so we could see for example German Navy P-3 , testbeds like F-4 , Eurofighter and Bell UH-1D and many, many other unique a/c and helicopter....

Ok enough of my blabla, and the impressions will tell the rest of the story, as always......
More will follow.......still working on lots of images from both days in Manching and Kaufbeuren.

As always c & c are more as welcome, and thanks for watching

Cheers,
Mick
