**Aviazione Civile incontra Superjet International:primo SSJ configurato a VCE-FOTO**

The first two Sukhoi Superjet 100 operated by the Mexican airline Interjet successfully performed the first revenue flights on September 18, 2013. The aircraft MSN 95023 (flight 3150) took off at approximately 7.37 (local time) from Mexico City airport (MEX) and landed at 8.54 a.m. at Torreon airport (TRC).

The second aircraft MSN 95024 (flight 3963) took off at about 7.50 a.m. (local time) from Mexico City airport (MEX) and landed at 8.52 a.m. at Aguascalientes (AGU) airport.

On the first day of their operations, the first two Interjet SSJ100s will perform 8 commercial flights each from Mexico City airport to other Mexican destinations as Campeche, Minatitlan, Zacatecas and Mazatlan.

“The SSJ100 is now flying also in the Americas. The entry in service with Interjet has opened the door to the Western market and the international aviation community has been carefully watching at this major step - states Nazario Cauceglia, Chief Executive Officer of SuperJet International - After a start-up phase, the SSJ100 program is determined to become a competitive player in the regional aircraft segment. We are positive we will meet customers’ expectations, through operational leasing alternatives and very attractive ECA Financing, supporting both start-up and legacy airlines. The SSJ100 has a great potential in the global market. Our forecast is for an addressable market of 1000 aircraft in the next 20 years. We firmly believe in the excellence of our product, its comfort, superior aerodynamics and outstanding performance, along with a “first class” Customer Services support” concluded Cauceglia.

The SSJ100 entry into service was introduced by a successful flight training campaign in “high altitude environment” typical of Mexico, supported by a risk assessment evaluation. Training flights, which were accomplished in Toluca after the completion of the Type Rating courses at the Venice SJI training center, included 171 “touch & go” for roughly 35 flight hours confirming the aircraft’s high-quality performance. Up to date SuperJet International, which is also the SSJ100 worldwide training provider, has trained 44 Interjet pilots, including 5 Interjet instructors, along with 8 cabin attendants and almost 100 mechanics.

Interjet also capitalizes on a comprehensive “per-flight-hour” program designed by SuperJet International specifically for SSJ100 operators to maximize aircraft availability, optimize maintenance costs and minimize the administrative burden. To facilitate the entry in service of the SSJ100 with Interjet SJI has also set up a new support warehouse located at Fort Lauderdale, Florida, (U.S.A.) that will provide logistic support to Interjet and in general to any North and Latin America customer. A SJI dedicated engineering team is on-site to provide technical support and advisory assistance while the Customer Care Center based in Venice (Italy) is operational 24/7 to provide timely support for spares, tooling and technical queries.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100, designed and produced by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company, in partnership with Alenia Aermacchi, incorporates the most modern Western technology and is powered by two PowerJet SaM146 engines. The aircraft offers a great advantage in terms of fuel consumption and low operational costs with the highest standards of quality and comfort available in the 100-seat segment.

The SSJ100 - now in service with six airlines (Interjet, Aeroflot, Sky Aviation, Lao Central, Yakutia, Moskovia) and 20 aircraft delivered - matches the most stringent western air safety standards of EASA, IAC-AR, ENAC and Mexican DGAC civil aviation authorities.

Interjet SSJ100s first commercial flights mark an important milestone in the Sukhoi Superjet 100 program and confirm the global aircraft’s ambitious perspectives.

The launch of Sukhoi Superjet SSJ100 operations by Interjet on its domestic network in Mexico last month represents a key stage in the type securing recognition from other western operators. The Russian-built airliner made its entry into service in April 2011 with the now defunct Armenian national carrier Armavia but despite reported interest from airlines across Europe and the Americas, with the exception of Interjet sales have been limited to CIS and Asian markets.
After the launch of SSJ100 operations by Interjet on September 18, 2013, Nazario Cauceglia, chief executive officer of SuperJet International, said: “The SSJ100 is now flying also in the Americas. The entry in service with Interjet has opened the door to the Western market and the international aviation community has been carefully watching at this major step.”
“After a start-up phase, the SSJ100 program is determined to become a competitive player in the regional aircraft segment. We are positive we will meet customers’ expectations, through operational leasing alternatives and very attractive ECA Financing, supporting both start-up and legacy airlines. The SSJ100 has a great potential in the global market. Our forecast is for an addressable market of 1,000 aircraft in the next 20 years,” he added.
Every month The HUB will provide an update on the current Superjet flight schedule and the routes the aircraft is being deployed upon. This list for October 2013 was compiled from OAG Analyser on October 1, 2013 and changes to planned routes are likely. In the table below we also feature the Superjet network size of each operator and the top destinations served by the aircraft. Our latest analysis shoes that Superjet air capacity rose 10.2 per cent in October 2013 versus September 2013.
NOTE: Sky Aviation also operates the Sukhoi Superjet but as these flights are operated on a scheduled charter basis they do not currently appear in OAG Analyser.

The SSJ100 will start operations on the US routes

The operational record and future activities of the SSJ100 aircraft in service with the Mexican airline Interjet have been discussed during a Top Executives Meeting, held on January 22 in Madrid, between Interjet and the partners involved in the aircraft’s manufacturing and development, United Aircraft Corporation, Alenia Aermacchi, SuperJet International and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company.

The meeting offered an interesting exchanging of views with regards to the operations of the Mexican airline Interjet, the first western customer of the SSJ100 aircraft.

The different aspects of the discussion emphasized the satisfaction of Interjet for the aircraft performance and for the range of services offered in support of SSJ100 fleet. Namely, Interjet confirmed the enviable dispatch reliability of the 4 aircraft in service, in the range of 99% after four months of very intensive operations with a total of over 2.500 flight hours.

Interjet also confirmed to have achieved all the necessary Authority approvals to fly the SSJ100 on routes from Mexico to North America, planning to serve new US destinations in the next months.
The parties expressed their satisfaction for the progress of the SSJ100 Program and of the partnership, being confident on always increasing market perspectives in the near future.

“This is another brilliant achievement for Interjet and for the SSJ100. As promised, we are opening new routes taking advantage of the SSJ100 overall performances which will soon begin to fly to the US for the first time” says Mr. Miguel Aleman Magnani, Executive President of Interjet.

“We are extremely pleased with Interjet operational score. Even at the very start of operation with our Mexican customer, the aircraft demonstrated high dispatch reliability and remarkable daily utilization rate. It confirms the fact that SSJ100 is an absolutely competitive product for the world market, which can successfully operate in critical environments as well” says Mikhail Pogosyan, President of United Aircraft Corporation.

In addition, it has been confirmed the commitment for the delivery in 2014 of 11 SSJ100 to Interjet.

“The success of SSJ100 with Interjet testifies the excellent results of the Russian–Italian partnership. I am confident we will soon reach other milestones to pave the way to the success of the aircraft worldwide” says Giuseppe Giordo, Chief Executive Officer of Alenia Aermacchi.

During the meeting the parties stated that the good performance of the aircraft with the first Western customer and the opportunity to demonstrate it in the US will have a positive effect on the progress of the SSJ100 Program and lead to the further market success.

New Nepalese airline Bishwo Airways has announced a tentative agreement with Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Co. for fiveSukhoi Superjet 100s.
A letter of intent for the aircraft was signed at the Aero India air show in Bangalore Thursday.
Kathmandu-based Bishwo is privately owned and a subsidiary of Bishwo Holdings, a diversified Nepalese investment holding company based in Singapore. At the 2014 Farnborough Airshow it ordered two Airbus 330-200s, which will initially operate mid- and long-haul services to Malaysia and the Persian Gulf. There is a large Nepalese expatriate community in the Gulf, working in the construction sector. Bishwo has plans to expand later further afield in Asia and Europe.
The SSJ100s, which are due to be delivered from 2017, will have a two-class, 93-seat layout and are intended to develop domestic and regional services to the point at which larger types can be deployed.

[h=1]Interjet firms up Sukhoi options, mulls Havana hub in longterm[/h]
Interjet
(4O, Toluca) has approved the firming up of options for an additional ten SSJ 100-95s Russia's RU Aviation News reports. The move follows talks between the airline's board and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft(Moscow Zhukovsky) executives late last year and, according to Interjet CEO Jose Luis Garza, will culminate in an agreement being signed in Venice, Italy later this year.

The Mexican LCC operates eleven of the type on flights throughout Mexico as well as to Houston Intc'land San Antonio Int'l in the United States.

Meanwhile, Garza says his airline would consider developing Havana Int'l into a regional hub but only once US sanctions against the communist island are lifted.

"It's only a dream now, first of all, the problem with lifting the economic embargo in Cuba must be solved," Jose Luis Garza told RIA Novosti. "But the creation of a transcontinental hub there [in Cuba] is a very interesting idea."

After more than fifty years, the Obama administration has signalled its intent to resume direct bilateral ties with Cuba, broken off two years after Fidel Castro overthrew Fulgencio Batista's regime in 1959.

With the prospect of a Cuban economic boom on the horizon, longterm ally Russia says it has already held talks with Abu Dhabi's strategic investment firm, Mubadala, regarding the construction of an new intercontinental hub airport on the island. Should the project go ahead, Russia would contribute USD200 million.

“We are deeply involved in these negotiations,” Russian trade and industry minister Denis Manturov told the UAE's National newspaper. “Cuba is developing a transport hub from the seaport and a railway to the airport. They have only one international airport and they are planning to use one of the ex-military bases to build a big airport hub for Latin America.”

The paper claims Russia’s involvement in the project is part of a move by president Vladimir Putin to effectively write off about USD32 billion of Soviet-era debt Cuba still owes. Under Moscow's new terms, Cuba must now repay Russia USD3 billion over a ten-year period. Ch-aviation
