Austrian sospende la tratta Vienna-Tokyo

Austrian Ends Tokyo Service in September 2016
Austrian yesterday has announced the closure of Vienna – Tokyo Narita service, as the airline closed reservation for flights on/after 04SEP16 (NRT from 05SEP16).
Currently served up to daily with Boeing 777-200ER, the airline first operated Tokyo service initially in July and August 1989, followed by regular flights from 1992.
Existing schedule as follow.

Austrian nell' ultimo periodo sta effettuando una completa ristrutturazione del network di lungo raggio, sono state chiuse rotte che non reggevano piu' la concorrenza delle golfare come Dubai e Delhi o poco performanti come Tokyo e sostituite con nuove aperture verso Miami, Shanghai e Hong Kong.

Diciamo che il traffico verso il Giappone e' stabile se non in flessione mentre quello verso la Cina e' in crescita.

In tali circostanze, per LH la prima scelta e' sempre dirottare il lungo da VIE a MUC o, al limite, FRA. Al tempo stesso, si liberano risorse OS per voli diretti piu' remunerativi.

Non so quanti facciano VIE - TYO passando per il Golfo: anche se i prezzi sono buoni si allunga un bel po'. Se non si vuole passare per mamma LH le scelte sono SU o AY, o anche LO. Se si va su altre destinazioni in Giappone viene utile KE se mancano diretti dall'Europa.

Austrian later this month is operating last Vienna – Astana flight, as the airline suspends operation for this 3 weekly flights, from 01AUG16 to 25MAR17 (reservation for flights on/after 26MAR17 is currently available). Existing operational schedule as follow.
