AtlasGlobal suspends operations until mid-December

Turkish carrier AtlasGlobal will halt operations until mid-December owing to financial troubles.
The airline says it will "temporarily" cease flights from 26 November to 21 December as it deals with cash flow problems amid tough economic conditions.
"We have entered a new phase of restructuring in order to provide you a unique flight experience," the carrier states.
During the Routes Europe conference in October, commercial chief Nevzat Arsan said that the carrier had a "very difficult time" in 2018 amid depreciation of the Turkish lira and general economic instability in the country.
He added that political and social instability in Iran, Iraq and Syria were impacting the airline “significantly”.
AtlasGlobal has 16 Airbus A320 family jets in its fleet, all of which are leased, Cirium fleets data shows. Five aircraft – all 18-21 years old – are in storage.

Al momento e' una sospensione temporanea delle operazioni per circa un mese, vediamo se poi effettivamente riprenderanno a volare.

Hanno già restituito 5 macchine ai lessor ieri, non ho mai creduto alle sospensioni temporanee. Suonano un po’ come “prendiamoci una pausa” per non dire direttamente “lasciamoci”.
 
Sono malpensante io oppure c'è qualcosa di vero sul rumor che circola da tempo secondo il quale il vero azionista (nascosto) di Atlas sarebbe in realtà Turkish-THY?

Avevo letto anche io questa notizia. La turchia è in piena crisi economica e i numeri dei pax sia sul nazionale che quelli originanti dal paese sono in calo. Se fosse vero Turkish avrebbe scelto di sacrificare Atlas Global per evitare di fare tagli e riduzioni in TK mainline. Ma è solo questione di tempo, se la crisi continua il taglio di capacità derivante dall' uscita di scena Atlas Global non sarà sufficiente a compensare il calo della domanda e TK stessa sarà costretta ad iniziare coi tagli

Turkey’s AtlasGlobal prepares to resume flights

Turkish carrier AtlasGlobal is preparing to restore services, after re-opening its reservations system after nearly a month-long suspension.
AtlasGlobal temporarily halted services on 26 November after admitting to financial difficulties.
But it states that the booking engine has been re-opened and that it will restore flights from the morning of 21 December.
Tickets for flights during the period of suspension were “put on hold”, says the carrier, and it is inviting passengers to contact the airline or travel agencies to make changes.
AtlasGlobal has not indicated the reason for its ability to resume services. It has not disclosed whether, or from what source, it has received any financial assistance.
Its fleet comprises a mix of Airbus A330-200s and Airbus single-aisle types. The airline operates to a range of destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
