Boeing Co. said on Tuesday that Turkish Airlines plans to order 70 of its workhorse 737s.

The airline has committed to order 20 737-800s, a version of the plane Boeing is making now. Turkish also plans to buy 40 737 Max 8s and 10 737 Max 9s, which is a planned new version of the plane which will have new engines.

The deal would be worth $6.9 billion at list prices, although data from aircraft valuation firm Avitas pegs the value after standard market discounts at about $3.5 billion. It also includes options for another 25 737 Max 8s.

Boeing said it would work with Turkish to finalize the order.

The 737 is Boeing's smallest but most popular plane.

Shares of Chicago-based Boeing fell 25 cents to $86.50 in morning trading.

Bisogna correggere il titolo (sono 20 NG e 50 MAX per un totale di 70).

Secondo l'altro articolo pubblicato da kenadams, sono circa 190 aerei tra B737 e famiglia A320 + 25 opzioni.
Da aggiungere quelli long haul per arrivare al raddoppio della flotta entro il 2020.

Quello che manca è un aeroporto in grado di accogliere tutto il traffico generato.
