SAS Group completes sale in airBaltic


The SAS Group completes transaction in respect of the sale of its 47.2% holding in airBaltic

In a press release on December 18, 2008, SAS Group announced the agreement to sell it's 47.2% holding in airBaltic to the management of airBaltic, the transaction has been completed and payment in respect of the shares has been received in accordance with the announced terms.

airBaltic Management Purchases SAS Shares in Airline

The management of Latvia’s national airline, airBaltic, concluded a transaction on January 29, in the course of which it purchased the 47.2% of shares in the airline that were owned by SAS AB. The sum paid for the shares was LVL 14 million (circa 20M di euro, ndDaV).
airBaltic president and executive director Bertolt Flick: "Even in this difficult economic climate, the airline’s management believe in the company's future and are prepared to work actively on future development."
airBaltic has also confirmed that commercial co-operation with SAS AB will continue.

Non capisco poi perchè AirBaltic ed Estonian non entrino a far parte di Star Alliance, in qualità di regional members.
