Secondo me A380 ha senso su aeroporti iper-congestionati (LHR per intenderci) o su rotte che hanno una sola fascia oraria conveniente (per esempio voli Europa-Sud Africa). Facendo un po' di fanta aviazione io un A380 IB lo vedrei solo sul MAD-EZE. Altre rotte ex-MAD con 'potenziale cicciobus'?

Ma infatti IB non lo opera neanche daily. Anche se fosse poi ordinare uno o due A380 non ha alcun senso
 
A livello di numeri sicuramente EZE, MEX, GRU e MIA. Però per EZE e MEX un solo daily col A380 non è sufficiente.
 
Una cosa che Walsh ha detto nella stessa intervista, e che quasi tutti si sono dimenticati di riportare, e' questo passaggio riferito al 380:

It is a “fanstastic aircraft when you can fill it” Walsh said, but it is inflexible. It only works at certain segments of your network where you can fill it and where frequency is not of prime importance. But when it fits, it brings “fantastic results.

Ci sono poche rotte su cui il 380 funziona bene, dove c'e' una grossa componente di business di rilievo (tipo LAX, SFO, SIN, HKG) e quelle sudamericane non mi sembrano essere tra loro. Iberia ha aerei con 40-50 sedili di Business al massimo, e il resto economy; riempire un 380 senza una Premium Economy o una First vuol dire o mettere un centinaio di posti di Business, o 500 in Economy; in entrambi i casi significa annacquare gli yield a livelli epici, perché per riempire un aereo del genere devi per forza svendere.

In più quasi tutte le rotte "papabili" per Iberia sono rotte notturne, in cui l'aereo sta a terra a lungo: GRU, EZE, pure MEX se non sbaglio; tutte rotte in cui gli A340 rimangono a terra a lungo, facendo anche manutenzione semi-pesante nel downtime. Con una flotta di 2-4 aerei, di rotte del genere, ne copri una o al massimo due daily. Più facile, magari, aggiungere un'altra rotazione coll'A332, anche perché MAD, bontà sua, non e' esattamente satura.

[FONT=&quot]Airbus may be struggling to secure new orders for the Airbus A380, but International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG) chief executive officer, Willie Walsh has revealed there could be a place for the aircraft in the fleets of another two of its airline brands.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Speaking at the World Travel Market in London this week, respected airline executive, Willie Walsh, revealed that alongside the operations of the aircraft within the fleet of British Airways (BA), he could also present a business case for the Super Jumbo to fly with Iberia and Aer Lingus.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]“We like the aircraft,” he said. “It works extremely well on parts of our BA network. I could also see a couple flying with Iberia and even one with Aer Lingus.”[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]BA this winter is operating the aircraft on flights from London Heathrow to Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, Singapore and Washington having grown its fleet to 12 aircraft this year with new deliveries in February 2016 and June 2016.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]“If the price was right we would look to add more,” confirmed Walsh. “Airbus offer great aircraft, but not necessarily at great prices,” he quipped.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]The executive’s comments followed a massive endorsement for the Super Jumbo from Emirates Airline, the largest customer for the aircraft. The airline’s president, Sir Tim Clark believes that a 500-seater option like the A380 will remain the option to overcome increasing capacity constraints in the global airport system.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]“The hubs are getting constrained,” he said. “It is not just London Heathrow but elsewhere such as in Sydney, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Boston to name a few.”[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]With orders for 142 A380, 85 of which are already in service, Emirates is pushing for Airbus to develop an upgraded version of the aircraft based on advancements through its neo projects. “I am not sure there is an appetite in Toulouse [the headquarters of Airbus] for the aircraft,” he said, blaming “high-risk adversity” within the boards of airlines for the lack of support for the programme. “They have gone into safe hand decision making,” he added.[/FONT]
