Incident: Alitalia B763 near Bathurst on Jun 11th 2010, weather radar failure

An Alitalia Boeing 767-300, registration EI-CRF performing flight AZ-629 from Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA) to Rome Fiumicino (Italy), was enroute at FL330 east of Bathurst,NB (Canada) when the crew advised of the loss of the weather radar and requested to divert to New York's JFK Airport. While enroute towards JFK at FL300 the crew dumped fuel and landed safely at JFK approximately 90 minutes after the decision to divert.
A replacement Boeing 767-300 registration I-DEIG reached Rome as flight AZ-6629 with a total delay of 22 hours.
