British Airways comincia a presentare le prime novità estive.
Oggi è stato annunciato, tra le altre, l'introduzione da FCO del 6° volo giornaliero su Heathrow. In aggiunta tornerà il 3° daily su Gatwick già dal 29 marzo (di solito veniva introdotto tra giugno e luglio). Saranno quindi in totale 9 daily Roma-Londra targati BA, di cui 2 in nightstop uno per LGW e l'altro per LHR. Al momento sono stati abbozzati solo gli orari per la S09, non l'utilizzo macchine, che presenta ovunque un generico "319". BA è solita infatti inserire la corretta informazione sugli aeromobili solo un paio di mesi prima.
New service and increased frequency announced for Summer 2009
British Airways has announced a new weekly service from London Gatwick to St Kitts, Caribbean and an increase in frequency on selected routes for Summer 2009.
New Service
We will launch a new weekly service from London Gatwick to St Kitts via Antigua. The new service will operate every Saturday, commencing 10 January 2009, bookable from 9th October 2008.
Increased frequency
We will be increasing our weekly service to Dubai from 14 to 20 flights per week from 29 March 2009.
Services to Johannesburg will increase from 14 to 19 flights per week from 1 May 2009.
In addition, services from London Heathrow to Rome, Athens, Budapest, Lisbon, Nice and Prague will increase in frequency by one round trip per day.
Airport change
With effect from 29 March 2009 the daily service from London Gatwick to Atlanta will depart from London Heathrow Terminal 5. London Gatwick to Toulouse will also depart from London Heathrow Terminal 5 with a reduced service from three to two flights per day.

Fino alla summer 2006 BA aveva 6 daily verso Roma mentre nella summer 2009 ne avrà ben 9, direi che è un bel passo avanti e la conferma che BA a Roma non risente particolarmente dell'agguerrita concorrenza degli altri vettori.
