Cold Weather Closes Manchester Airport
David Williams, Sky News Online
The travel plans of thousands in the North of England have been hit as Manchester Airport shuts because of the severe weather.
All inbound and outbound flights have been temporarily cancelled.
The airport is expected to remain closed for up to an hour while snow and ice is cleared off the runway.
After a week which ended with a cold weather malfunction leaving Eurostar's train service in disarray, the freezing weather is likely to cause more delays and cancellations across the country in the coming days.
