ORY > 2 NOV 09 NEW SLOT POOL ALLOCATION
Due to the bankruptcy of a carrier and the withdrawal of the operating licence of another one, COHOR constituted a pool of 6672 slots at Paris-Orly airport, which has been distributed considering the requests received from air carriers at the slot submission deadline for the summer 2010 scheduling season (S10).
COHOR, appointed as Paris-Orly airport co-ordinator by the modified French Minister of Transport order of August 27th, 1996 and in accordance with the amended Council Regulation 95/93 of January 18th, 1993 on common rules for the allocation of slots at Community airports, distributed the entire pool on an annual basis.
The Council Regulation 95/93 which was amended in July 2004 stipulates that carriers must clearly request themselves the new entrant status and that half of the pool must be allocated between carriers' requests with new entrant status.
The carriers having claimed this new entrant status (and which are entitled to it) are:
easyJet Switzerland (2 daily flights to Venice),Meridiana (2 daily flights), Pegasus Airlines (1 daily flight), Vueling (1 daily flight), Wizzair (4 weekly flights to Bratislava).
.
The airlines that have benefited from the distribution of the slot pool are (please click on "Attached Document" for further details):
As new entrant (3336 slots):
• EasyJet Switzerland (1460): 2 daily flights to Venice (VCE) [Slot Regulation article 2b ii)]
• Vueling (730): 1 daily flight
• Pegasus Airlines (730): 1 daily flight
• Wizzair (416) : 4 weekly flights

• Air Portugal (2190): 3 daily flights
• Iberia (730): 1 daily flight
• Midex Airlines (312) : 3 weekly flights
• Air Algerie (104) : 1 weekly flight
These slots were allocated on the basis of submissions for summer 2010 scheduling season. However, the carriers which have been allocated these new slots on an annual basis willing to start their year round operations already before the end of the current Winter 2009/2010 season will be allowed to do so.
The reserved number of slots for year-round services will be allocated for the following Winter 2010/2011 scheduling season provided that the new services will really start at the beginning of the summer 2010 season and that the year round operation requests are duly confirmed by carriers by the industry deadline set for the requests for Winter 2010/2011.
