Thessaloniki, Northern Greece's premier airport, is to get a second terminal extension, this time to the west. Work has already started on extending the building, creating an additional 12,920[ft.sup.2] (1,200[m.sup.2]) of terminal space over three floors. Work on extending one of the two runways is due to start soon. Runway 10/28 is to be extended by 3,280ft (1,000m), much of which will be into the sea.
