Jade Cargo International and Lufthansa Cargo AG strengthen cooperation in 2009
From January 1st, 2009, a majority of Jade Cargo capacity will be sold under the responsibility of Lufthansa Cargo (LCAG) as one of the leading cargo airlines of the world.
Accordingly, from that date, capacity on Jade Cargo International flights out of Shenzhen, Pudong, Incheon and Osaka as well as the capacity out of Europe will be marketed by Lufthansa Cargo. While moving into this close partnership with the Lufthansa Cargo Group, Jade Cargo will exclusively market Jade Cargo International capacity out of Tianjin. The remaining capacity will be used to develop and explore new markets and opportunities under the existing Jade Cargo International brand and structure.
“This year, almost every sector in industry has been impacted by the devastating financial crisis. Not only will the existing global financial turbulences require a solid crisis management but also will ongoing developments in our markets and on the customer side require new answers,” said Captain Kay Kratky, Jade Cargo’s Chief Executive Officer. “With the new setup, Jade Cargo International and Lufthansa Cargo AG could provide the customers access to a more expedient and convenient network. The customers will profit in a variety of ways from this closer cooperation”.
“Jade Cargo International has capitalized on the first months of 2008 and ramped up its operation to full swing mode three months earlier than planned. Since September 2008, the operational monthly results of Jade Cargo International have turned positive and aircraft utilization is peaking at 15 block hours per day. Together with Lufthansa Cargo Group we see Jade Cargo International in an excellent position to manage the difficulties ahead
