Swiss fliegt neu Zürich-Lyon

Ab 29. März 2009 profitieren Swiss-Kunden von einer Direktverbindung zwischen Zürich und Lyon.

Die französische Metropole Lyon wird von Swiss ab 29. März 2009 viermal täglich mit einem Avro RJ100 angeflogen.

Trotz angespanntem Marktumfeld sei Swiss in der Lage, weitere Destinationen in den Sommerflugplan 2009 aufzunehmen und entgegen dem Branchentrend ihr Streckennetz zu erweitern. Nach Paris und Nizza baut Swiss mit Lyon die dritte Destination auf und ermöglicht auch ihren Kunden aus Frankreich via Zürich Anschlüsse auf das europäische und interkontinentale Streckennetz.

Mit Lyon bietet Swiss in ihrem Sommerflugplan neu 77 Destinationen an, davon liegen 47 in Europa.

Ma ci sono rotte di lungo raggio AF da Lione? Non mi sembra...

Al contrario col nuovo volo Swiss andrà a intercettare molti pax francesi per portarli sul lungo raggio da ZRH

LYS è perlopiù un hub continentale di AF

Swiss announces new Zurich-Lyon service

Swiss customers will soon enjoy non-stop connections between Zurich and Lyon.
The new service of four daily frequencies will be introduced with the start of the 2009 summer schedules on 29 March, and will be operated using Avro RJ100 equipment. While the general market situation remains less than favourable, Swiss is one of the few air carriers which are able to counter the present industry trend and add further destinations to their network for the 2009 summer schedules: Switzerland's national airline will offer a new four-times-daily service between Zurich and Lyon from 29 March.
The new route further enhances the SWISS service product to and from France. Lyon joins Paris and Nice to become Swiss's third French destination. The new flights will also offer customers from the Lyon area convenient connections in Zurich with Swiss's other European services and its intercontinental network.
Located in the heart of the attractive Rhône-Alpes region, Lyon is France's second-biggest business centre, and is home to the branch operations of various Swiss companies. With its many cultural attractions, its appealing location and its fine culinary fare, the city also attracts large numbers of tourist visitors.
Following the addition of Lyon, Swiss will serve 77 destinations in its 2009 summer schedules, 47 of them in Europe.
 
Dal comunicato sembra che puntino molto sul point to pinti, esiste tutto questo traffico tra le due città? In macchina sono ca 4 ore, come da Firenze a Roma (poco più).
 
Secondo me invece Swiss punterà molto sui transiti a Zurigo (per il long-haul in particolare).

Ci fosse in Italia un aeroporto equivalente a LYS (sui 7 mil di pax) che ha tutte queste destinazioni da parte del vettore nazionale.
 
è una valida alternativa al cdg, io mi son trovato sempre bene e poi è certamente più a misura d'uomo...

Quando, per le stesse ragioni elencate con Lione, decideranno di rimettere i 3 daily che avevano con Torino, si tornerà a ragionare. Anche nell'ottica Lufthansa-Star Alliance di contrastare eventuali perdite di passeggeri con la nuova Alitalia (che non ci saranno, ma è sempre meglio premunirsi...).
 
In uno stato centralizzato come la Francia anche le seconde o terze aree metropolitane (Marsiglia e Lione) appaiono molto "periferiche" rispetto a Parigi. Basta guardare la statistica pax (2008: "solo" circa 8 mio di pax a Lione). Il nuovo aeroporto lionese era stato costruito "anche" per far concorrenza a Ginevra... In realtà è capitato il contrario: GVA (città con 200.000 ab) ha un aeroporto con un traffico che è una volta e mezzo quello di Lione... e perdippiu' con alcuni voli intercontinentali. Quanto a SWISS e i voli su ZRH: certo è che la compagnia svizzera cercherà di drenare passeggeri per il lungo raggio. Lione poi è collegata a Parigi con il TGV che ha riconquistato negli ultimi decenni una grande fetta dei pax aerei.
 
Da Lione con il TGV in due ore si raggiunge CDG T2, per cui, a meno di voli diretti, interni, credo sia più comodo treno + aereo. Quindi 8 mln di pax non mi sembra malaccio come numero per una città appunto "periferica". In Italia se non erro al 4° posto c'è Venezia con un milione di pax in meno!

GVA ha la fortuna di essere la sede di tante associazioni mondiali...cmq mi meraviglia che la Svizzera, con neanche 8mln di abitanti, abbia generato nel 2008 circa 38mln di pax con ZRH, GVA e BSL!
 
Ma sbaglio o di recente AirFrance ha cancellato la Tratta Zurigo Lione?

A questo punto SWISS non ha piu' concorrenti sulla rotta........
