Astraeus (5W/London Gatwick) has temporarily wet-leased a B757-200 to Intercontinental Airways (Gambia) (Banjul) for the Hajj season.

Air Atlanta Icelandic (CC/Reykjavik Keflavik) has wet-leased two B747-300s to Ethiopian Airlines (ET/Addis Ababa) for the Hajj season. It has added an ex-Tesis B747-200F freighter

Onur Air (8Q/Istanbul Ataturk) has wet-leased an A321-200 to Air Algérie (AH/Algiers). It has added an ex-Olympic Airlines (OA/Athens) A300-600R and has wet-leased it to Saudi Arabian Airlines (SV/Jeddah) for the Hajj season.

Air Comet (A7/Madrid) parent Grupo Marsans has surprisingly confirmed its order for four A380-800s, 10 A350-900s, five additional A330-200s, five A321-200s, 25 A320-200s and 12 A319-100s that it had originally placed when it still had control of Aerolineas Argentinas (AR/Buenos Aires Ezeiza), Austral (AU/Buenos Aires Aeroparque) and before Air Comet Chile (3I/Santiago de Chile) has suspended operations. It is unclear whether all of the aircraft will eventually be operated by Air Comet or if Marsans has other plans. Air Comet has wet-leased an A310-300 and an A330-200 to Royal Air Maroc (AT/Casablanca) for the Hajj season. Air Comet has announced plans for a new route linking Madrid and Medellin in 2009. It has now also given up its Madrid-San Jose Juan Santamaria route though.

Icelandair (FI/Reykjavik Keflavik) will combine its seasonal summer service to Bergen with Stavanger this summer season and operate a twice weekly triangle service from Reykjavik Keflavik via Bergen and Stavanger back to Iceland between June 2 and August 30. It will however give up its Reykjavik Keflavik-Orlando Sanford route on May 1. It has already suspended its Reykjavik Keflavik-Glasgow Intl route on December 1. Icelandair has wet-leased a B757-200 to Med-View Airline (Kano) for the Hajj season and another B757-200 to SBA Airlines (S3/Maracaibo). It will also dry-lease a third B757-200 to Yakutia Airlines (R3/Yakutsk).

Fly Globespan (Y2/Edinburgh) has wet-leased a B767-300ER to Garuda Indonesia (GA/Jakarta Intl) for the Hajj season. It will retire its two B737-300s in February and return the aircraft to the lessor. It has temporarily remarked its single B737-600 for the winter season but will use the aircraft again as of April to operate charter services out of Bournemouth on behalf of tour operator Palmair. Fly Globespan will add an ex-Zoom Airlines B767-300ER next summer. It will temporarily suspend its Edinburgh-Barcelona route from December 21 until May 1. It has also not launched its previously announced Aberdeen-Sharm el Sheikh route.

Monarch Airlines (ZB/London Luton) has wet-leased an A300-600R to Egyptair (MS/Cairo) for the Hajj season and its B767-300ER to Air Méditerranée (BIE/Lourdes/Tarbes). It has added an additional ex-easyJet (U2/London Luton) A321-200 to its fleet. It has suspended its Birmingham-Almeria/Murcia/Palma de Mallorca, London Luton-Almeria/Faro/Las Palmas and Manchester-Menorca/Palma de Mallorca for the winter season.

Centralwings (C0/Warsaw) will give up all of its scheduled services by the end of the month and continue operations as a charter carrier. It had operated low-cost services out of Gdansk, Krakow, Poznan, Warsaw and Wroclaw. It will wet-lease three B737-400s to Nayzak Air Transport (M4/Tripoli Intl) for the Hajj season.

Air Europa (UX/Palma de Mallorca) has entered into a codeshare agreement with Tunisair (TU/Tunis) for the Barcelona-Tunis and Madrid-Tunis routes where both carriers operate. It has announced plans to retire four B737-800s and two of its three remaining B767-300ERs. It will first wet-lease the two B767-300ERs to Garuda Indonesia (GA/Jakarta Intl) for the Hajj season. It will give up its Seville-Paris Orly route on October 26 and has already terminated its Barcelona-Athens and Madrid-Warsaw services.

Neos (NO/Milan Malpensa) has leased an ex-XL Airways UK B737-800 to replace some of the charter flights for Italian tour operators previously operated by now defunct Futura Intl Airways. It has wet-leased the aircraft to NasAir (Eritrea) (UE/Asmara) for the winter season.
