Level Europe files for insolvency

Vienna-based budget carrier and IAG subsidiary Level Europe has filed for insolvency, becoming the latest airline casualty of the Covid-19 crisis.
"Level Europe will enter insolvency on 18 June," says the carrier in a notice on its website. "All flights have been grounded as of March 2020 and the Austrian business has ceased trading with immediate effect."
Cirium fleets data shows that Level Europe operated a fleet of six leased A320-family aircraft. In addition to its home airport of Vienna, it had a base at Amsterdam Schiphol. The airline began operations in July 2018.
"Customers who have booked their flights through channels other than Level Europe's website should contact the airline's partners directly to confirm whether their travel plans have been affected and the options available to them," it states. "Passengers who have booked via the airline's website will be required to contact the court's appointed administrator to check their options."
IAG says that Level Europe is part of Vueling and that the insolvency "has nothing to do with" the airline group's long-haul unit Level, which operates out of Barcelona and Paris.

Rimetteranno vy su quelle rotte. Non credo che Iag le regali. Alla fine iag una low cost medio corto raggio gia’ ce l’ha.
 
La decisione di IAG è molto financial oriented ed ovviamente non sono sorpreso, Level Europe è stato un errore di presunzione di IAG in quanto si erano intestarditi su VIE dopo che non erano riusciti ad acquistare FlyNiki ed entrare direttamente nel mercato austriaco.
Non c'era nessuna strategia nel progetto, Ryanair (Laudamotion) and Wizz Air hanno fatto il resto ed il risultato finale era scontato...

Quello che trovo vergognoso e' che si faccia fare fallimento a una filiale senza riproteggere i passeggeri. Da un gruppo come IAG non me lo sarei aspettato.
 
Faccio riferimento al comunicato di "Level" riportato nel primo post da AZ209:
"Passengers who have booked via the airline's website will be required to contact the court's appointed administrator to check their options."
Ne desumo dal testo che se devo contattare il foro competente alla gestione della procedura fallimentare non é certo per chiedere una riprotezione su BA o Iberia...

IAG fa esattamente il minimo sindacale. Ne' piu', ne' meno.
