Concordo, tabella che non ha molto senso senza una spiegazione dei criteri usati; tra l'altro potremmo dibattere a lungo anche sull'accuratezza, UA ad esempio vola su MXP solo da EWR (6450km gcm) mentre sul grafico risultano circa 6750km...

La tabella è comunque interessante perché dice quali sono le mete più ambite nella stagione estiva 2019 :D, e ci dice soprattutto che DL riesce a spuntare una tariffe media di Y più alta rispetto a UA.

Premetto che la mia considerazione è quella di un utente che vola tra Italia e USA 4/5 volte all'anno. Non capisco nulla di aviazione e del suo mercato. Detto questo mi sembra che le tariffe rispecchino abbastanza fedelmente la differenza di prodotto offerta da Delta e United in classe economica. Attualmente gli interni di UA sia sul triplo che sul 767 utilizzati da MXP sono decisamente allo stremo, stesso discorso per la connessione wi-fi il più delle volte inutilizzabile. Speriamo che in futuro arrivi qualcosa di meglio...
 
Il SFO-MUC verra' esteso ad annuale, mentre il SFO-AMS terminera' il 25 ottobre e riprendera' con la summer 2020.

United swaps Amsterdam and Munich seasonal routes

United Airlines will extend its Munich service from San Francisco to year-round next winter, swapping the market's seasonal status to its new Amsterdam route.
The Star Alliance carrier will suspend its new daily San Francisco-Amsterdam flight, which was previously planned as year-round, on 25 October with plans to resume it for the summer 2020 season, Unitedconfirms today and Cirium schedules data shows. Service with a 252-seat Boeing 787-9 begins on 30 March.
At the same time, United will extend its seasonal San Francisco-Munich route to year-round status, it says. The airline operates the route, which began in May 2018, with a Boeing 787-9.
“We continuously review and monitor demand for business and leisure travel in markets around the world," United says. "After careful review and analysis of demand between San Francisco and Munich, we have made the decision to adjust our winter schedules to offer more options for customers."
Munich is a hub for the US carrier's transatlantic joint venture partner Lufthansa.
United continues to serve Amsterdam from Chicago O'Hare, Houston Intercontinental, Newark and Washington Dulles on a year-round basis.
Amsterdam is a hub for SkyTeam Alliance member KLM, which continues to serve the San Francisco-Amsterdam market year round, schedules show. FG

Dopo ore la beffa: superati gli orari dell'equipaggio la compagnia ha deciso di cancellare il volo (Il Fatto)

Update su 787-10, appena ritirato il settimo!

We now have seven 787-10 aircraft, and we expect to take delivery of four more 787-10s this year, followed by an additional three deliveries in 2020 or 2021.
 
We apply for Cape Town service
Today we submitted an application to the U.S. Department of Transportation asking for the right to begin new service between EWR and CPT (Cape Town, South Africa). If approved, we will start operating nonstop flights three times a week to CPT in December with the Boeing 787-9.
“We are always looking at ways to expand our industry-leading international route network to offer our customers more convenient options,” said International Network VP Patrick Quayle. “We’re thrilled to announce the addition of Africa to our global route offering. This new flight will provide customers with the only nonstop service between the United States and Cape Town.”
 
Quando avrò abbastanza miglia è una rotta che voglio farmi con la mia ragazza in J, temo solo il numero di miglia necessarie visto che parte da dopo il dynamic pricing :S

ultima fu IAH LOS, "The Oil Route"...un 777 che faceva 50J e 50Y al giorno. Per quanto lo yield fosse pure brillante, la necessita' di riposizionare la macchina (capacity) su altri mercati decreto' la chiusura della rotta, anche perche' emersero enormi problemi legati alla sicurezza del CREW (scorte armate APT-HOTAC e vv, vendors minacciati di ritorsioni perche' servivano il Satana USA, etc...)

United reports first-quarter 2019 earnings

We reported first-quarter net income of $292 million, diluted earnings per share of $1.09, pre-tax earnings of $367 million and pre-tax margin of 3.8 percent, expanding pre-tax margin 1.8 points versus the first quarter of 2018. We reported first-quarter adjusted net income of $309 million, adjusted diluted earnings per share of $1.15, adjusted pre-tax earnings of $389 million and adjusted pre-tax margin of 4.1 percent, expanding adjusted pre-tax margin 2.1 points versus the first quarter of 2018.*

Here we come, Cape Town
Two weeks ago we applied to the U.S. Department of Transportation, asking for the right to fly from EWR to CPT (Cape Town, South Africa), and today we are happy to announce that tickets for those flights, which will begin December 15, are now on sale.
We are the first carrier ever to offer nonstop EWR-CPT flights, and the only carrier currently offering nonstop service from North America to CPT. We’re still awaiting government approval of our schedule, but we plan on operating the route three times a week.
Nonstop service will reduce the current travel time from EWR to CPT by more than four hours. South Africa’s Western Cape Provincial Minister of Economic Opportunities Beverley Schäfer believes this will be a boon to tourism and help spur business relationships between firms in South Africa and the New York/New Jersey area.
“The United States is one of the Western Cape’s key tourism markets and United’s new service will significantly contribute toward growing our tourism sector as we welcome new visitors,” she said. “The Western Cape is a global hub for technology and finance, and United Airlines will enable new economic opportunities for Cape Town and New York.”
EWR-CPT is our 22nd new international route announced in the past two years.

We are excited to announce that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) tentatively granted United four daily nonstop flights to Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) from our hubs at New York / Newark (EWR), Chicago O'Hare (ORD), Washington Dulles (IAD) and Los Angeles (LAX).
