New world-first GatwickConnects booking service launched, providing more choice and more competitive fight options
15/09/2015
Gatwick Airport has the UK’s largest route network, serving 11 UK regional points and 190 international destinations. Around 1 million travellers per annum already access this network by connecting from low cost airlines to other low cost or full service airlines, but make separate bookings with no protection if a flight is re-scheduled or delayed.
Today Gatwick Airport has launched its new GatwickConnects booking service which will enable these flights uniquely to be booked in one transaction with peace of mind that Gatwick will look after customers if flights don’t operate as planned. GatwickConnects is the first time an airport has taken the lead to book and safeguard connections. GatwickConnects routes can be found when booking through Skyscanner and Dohop.
GatwickConnects offers the opportunity for significant cost and time savings. Jersey to Fort Lauderdale when booked through GatwickConnects, for instance, results in a £876 saving when booked through the service.
