(Reuters) - A passenger plane ran off an airport runway outside Moscow on Saturday and caught fire, the Interfax news agency reported, citing police.

There was no immediate word on the type of plane or how many people were aboard. An initial report from Interfax said the plane had landed hard on a highway.

Passenger plane crashlands on Moscow highway near Vnukovo Airport

A passenger jet has crashed after taking a hard landing at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport, witnesses say. At least one person has reportedly died. There may be survivors.

*Preliminary reports say the jet, which belongs to Russian airline Red Wings, rolled out from the runway into Kievskoye Highway, fell into pieces and caught fire. The plane might have been carrying a crew only.

Part of the crashed Tupolev-204 has blocked the highway; a traffic jam is developing at the scene.

Red Wings is a Russian airline that specializes in charter flights to Russia and Europe. In 2012 the company began to operate regular flights throughout Russia. The company is the largest buyer of Russian-made Tu-204 airplanes.

The plane may have been carrying 12 people: 8 passengers and 4 crew. It was coming from the Czech Republic.

Penso stesse espletando un volo charter sulla tratta PED (Pardubice, Rep. Ceca)-VKO.

Dovrebbe essere anche il primo incidente grave per il TU204, aereo abbbastanza recente, se la memoria non mi inganna.

In realtà, più di due anni fa (22/03/2010), un TU204 della compagnia charter russa Aviastar, ha subito un grave incidente in fase di atterraggio a DME, in condizioni di nebbia e scarsa visibilità.
Operava un ferry-flight (solo 8 crew, tutti sopravvissuti) da HRG.
Questo incidente fu il primo hull loss per questo tipo di a/m.

Brutto incidente, un pensiero per le vittime.

Ma come ha fatto a finire sulla kievskoe??? Anche volendo non riesco a capire come sia possibile, tra la testa della pista e l'autostrada c'è di mezzo una rampa ed uno Ilushin

E' finito nei pressi della M3, oltre la testata della pista 10, quindi a sud-ovest dell'aeroporto
