Ryanair set to announce new routes from Cork
Cork Airport’s winter schedule is set to get a major boost when Ryanair announces three new routes flying out of Cork.
The Irish Examiner understands the new routes will be announced tomorrow following on from a strong set of annual results earlier this week from the airline.
Ryanair operates 19 destinations from Cork Airport during its expanded summer schedule. During the winter months, it reduces the number of flights it handles out of Cork, but it is set to include three new routes this winter.
The airline is the second largest operator out of Cork, with only Aer Lingus offering more destinations from the airport with 25 different flights during the busy winter season.
Cork Airport is the country’s third busiest airport handling just over 1m passengers to date this year.
It is hoped the new Ryanair routes will boost passenger numbers at the airport and tourism in the whole of the Munster.
