Flights in and out of Gatwick have been suspended after a Virgin Atlantic flight was forced to make an emergency landing at the airport.
The Airbus A330-300 passenger jet had taken off for Orlando when it was forced to return to Gatwick.
"Due to a technical problem on board the aircraft, the captain decided as a precautionary measure to immediately evacuate the aircraft," Virgin Atlantic said in a statement.
Flight VS27 had 299 passengers and and 13 crew on board.
Some people reportedly suffered smoke inhalation in the incident, but there were no serious injuries.
A Gatwick Airport spokeswoman said: "It has made a safe emergency landing, the emergency services are on the scene and the aircraft is safe and passengers are being disembarked.
"Because the aircraft is on the runway all flights in and out of Gatwick are suspended until further notice."
