Un A343 con 104 persone tra passeggeri (93) ed equipaggio (11) è uscito di pista a BOM, per fortuna senza conseguenze per le persone a bordo.

Passengers at Mumbai's Chhtrapati Shivaji International Airport continue to face delays for the second day today as the main runway of the airport is still closed. It is expected to open at 5 pm.

The runway was shut down yesterday after a Turkish Airways plane skidded off the rapid exit taxiway after landing early in the morning and got stuck in some mud just a few feet away.

For the entire day on Friday, the airport had to make do with its secondary runway. As a result, some flights had to be cancelled and many others ran late - by about 15 minutes to start with, and then longer delays of 45 minutes by the evening. The delays still continue as the towing away of the aircraft is taking longer than expected. Continuous rain is also hindrance.

The Turkish Airlines aircraft, an Airbus 340, had 104 people on board including 11 crew members. No injuries were reported. The airline issued a statement that said its plane skidded off the runway after landing "as a result of excessive rainfall."

The flight from Istanbul to Mumbai landed at 4.13 am. The plane exited the runway onto the recently-refurbished taxiway N8 that leads towards the terminal. Suddenly, the plane skidded and its nose wheel and main landing gear hit the mud.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), which supervises flight safety, has said this is a serious incident, and has begun a formal inquiry to determine what went wrong. The fact that the plane first skidded off the taxiway and then veered so close to the busy runway is a double-whammy as far as safety concerns go.

Mica viaggiano sempre pieni, vorrei vedere la percentuale di cittadini turchi che erano su quel volo, mi sa che gli unici erano quelli dell'equipaggio!

Vero anche questo ma non è la prima volta che cerco voli per raggiungere l'India e casualmente la prima, in ordine di prezzo, è la tratta via IST con TK.
 
Dalle foto di AVherald l'aereo si trova a est dell'intersezione N8, intuitivamente mi sarei aspettato di vederlo a ovest dell'N8 . Che dite ?

Siccome mi hai incuriosito e non ho nulla da fare, sono andato a vedere per curiosità un ipotetico MIL-BOM con TK a fine settembre... 384€ A/R!!!!!!!!
Le alternative partono da 520€ in su!
Sicuramente i posti a quella tariffa non saranno molti, però significa che per ora il volo è praticamente vuoto, come quello uscito di pista. E ho simulato una partenza lunedi con ritorno venerdi, che dovrebbero essere i giorni + pieni!
 
Chiedo a tutti la cortesia di discutere dell'incidente e non del load factor che, in questi casi, nulla ha a che vedere con la notizia e con l'accaduto.

Un volo mezzo vuoto non significa nulla...il 15 Agosto sulla MXP DXB con EK eravamo 67 su di un 777...al ritorno overbooking sia su MXP che su FCO e VCE
