Li mette a disposizione Jal?

Jetstar Japan anticipa inizio operazioni

Jetstar Japan pushes up launch date to July

Qantas Group’s new low-cost subsidiary Jetstar Japan has pushed up the launch of its domestic services to July 3, several months ahead of schedule (ATW Daily News, Oct. 12, 2011). The carrier, which will be based at Tokyo Narita (NRT), is on track to be the first LCC to fly on domestic routes from Tokyo.
It will initially serve five major Japanese cities—NRT, Osaka, Sapporo, Fukuoka and Okinawa—using three new Airbus A320s. Its fleet is expected to grow to 24 aircraft within the first few years. Short-haul international flights are expected to start in 2013.
Competitor AirAsia Japan, the joint venture between AirAsia and All Nippon Airways (ANA), will launch in August from NRT (ATW Daily News, Feb. 3). International services are scheduled to launch Oct. 1. From 2013, it plans to offer Airbus A330 services to Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.
Jetstar Japan is a partnership between the Qantas Group (QF), Japan Airlines and Mitsubishi Corp. Last year QF finalized a contract for 110 A320 family aircraft for QF subsidiary Jetstar Group in Australia and Singapore and Jetstar Japan (ATW Daily News, Oct. 7, 2011).
Jetstar Group CEO Bruce Buchanan said past experience with Japan puts Jetstar in a good position. “Serving the Japanese customer for the past five years with international services gives us a clear advantage in rolling out a domestic network,” Buchanan said.
Jetstar Japan CEO Miyuki Suzuki said the carrier was preparing for strong customer demand when fares to its first five destinations go on sale. “In a country that’s never had a true low fares domestic network, the ability to travel for an average of 50% less will open up new places and opportunities,” Suzuki said.

Narita-based low-cost carrier to start services in July 2012

24 April 2012 Press Release
Jetstar Japan, one of Japan’s newest low-cost carriers (LCC), has taken delivery of its first Airbus A320 aircraft in Toulouse, France. The Japanese carrier will start commercial services in July operating from Narita to Kansai, Fukuoka, Sapporo, and Okinawa with an initial fleet of three aircraft. This fleet will grow to 24 aircraft within three years.
Jetstar Japan’s A320s are configured in a high comfort all economy layout with 180 seats. Each aircraft is powered by IAE V2500 engines.
“We are extremely happy to take delivery of our brand new Airbus A320. With its wider seats and more spacious cabin than the competition, we are positioned to provide better value that our customers will appreciate as well as fast turnarounds, which is key to our business model,” Jetstar Japan President Miyuki Suzuki said. “We aim to become the number one LCC in the Japanese market, and the A320 will help us achieve our goals.”
“We are delighted to welcome Jetstar Japan as our newest Airbus operator. The A320 has the widest most comfortable cabin and the best performance of any single-aisle aircraft. Passengers love it and operators love it too,” said Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers John Leahy. “The A320 is already the aircraft of choice in Asia with some 80 per cent market share in the LCC market.”
Jetstar Japan, established in 2011, is a joint venture between the Qantas Group, Japan Airlines (JAL), Mitsubishi Corporation and Century Tokyo Leasing Corporation. Jetstar Japan’s Airbus fleet is from an order for 110 A320 Family aircraft placed by the Qantas Group in October 2011.
As of today, nearly 8,400 Airbus A320 Family aircraft have been sold to more than 340 customers and operators worldwide, making it the world’s best selling commercial jetliner ever. With proven reliability and extended servicing periods, the A320 Family has the lowest operating costs of any single-aisle aircraft.

Articolo interessante sull'argomento.

Jetstar Japan completes leasing for 24 aircraft

Jetstar Japan has finalised arrangements with five lessors that will purchase and lease 24 new Airbus A320 aircraft that Jetstar Japan will receive in the next three years.

All of the aircraft have been sourced through the Qantas Group’s existing fleet orders, allowing access to early delivery slots.
The Tokyo-based low fares airline started its commercial flights on 3 July with three of the new Airbus A320 aircraft configured for 180 passengers. Its fourth aircraft will be delivered next month.
The agreements are with five leading leasing companies, including Jetstar Japan shareholders Mitsubishi Corporation (through MC Aviation Partners), which will lease five aircraft, and Century Tokyo Leasing, which will lease six aircraft.
GE Capital Aviation Services, Hong Kong Aviation Capital and Jackson Square Aviation are lessors for six, four and three aircraft respectively.
The five lessors were selected after a competitive tender process involving numerous global leasing organisations.

Chief Executive Officer of Jetstar Japan, Miyuki Suzuki, said finalising lease agreements for its fleet so early on reflected positive market sentiment towards Jetstar Japan’s prospects.
“It’s unique for a start-up airline to have completed such a large and complex set of transactions prior to the first flight and it’s a credit to the lessors we have selected,” said Ms Suzuki.
“Our lessors understand the value of the Jetstar brand, our strategy and our business model and are excited to be part of the success of the new airline.” Ms Suzuki added.
Before its first flight Jetstar Japan had sold well in excess of 100,000 fares. The airline will be operating up to 26 flights a day by the end of August 2012 and is planning to introduce international flights during 2013.

Qantas, JAL pump $114m into Jetstar Japan

Qantas and Japan Airlines will pour an additional $114m into Jetstar Japan as the franchise prepares to launch international flights early next year.

The top-up will be evenly split between Qantas and JAL and see their stakes in Jetstar Japan increase to 47.1% each.

From its launch in mid-2012 the airline holds an estimated 60% share of Japan's burgeoning low-cost market and is now looking to grow beyond its domestic network.

By year's end the Jetstar Japan fleet will number 20 single-aisle Airbus A320 aircraft, with bases at Tokyo/Narita and Osaka's Kansai Airport.
Kansai has proven especially useful to Jetstar Japan for its curfew-free status, which the airline says has lead to "an increase of flying by 20%."

Jetstar Japan is one of several Asian offshoots of the low-cost Jetstar brand, which includes the regional anchor Jetstar Asia and still-to-fly Jetstar Hong Kong.
Earlier today Qantas announced it would also expand its list of codeshare flights with Jetstar Japan and begin daily flights to Tokyo's Haneda Airportin August 2015.
