SAS chiude Dubai
SAS is canceling its Winter seasonal Copenhagen – Dubai service, meaning the Star Alliance member will not be operating this route in Winter 2011/12 season.
The airline originally planned to operate 2 weekly A340 and 1 weekly A330 service. SAS will reassign these aircraft on to other long-haul routes which has not yet displaying service increase in the reservation system, at time this post goes to press.

American seeks to boost Miami-Brazil service

American Airlines applied to the US Dept. of Transportation for the right to fly 10 additional weekly frequencies from Miami to destinations in Brazil starting as early as December.
If it gains regulatory approval, AA said would use three frequencies to increase MIA-Brasilia service from four weekly flights to daily using a Boeing 757-200 from Dec. 15; three frequencies to increase MIA-Belo Horizonte flights from four-times-weekly to daily using a 767-300ER from Dec. 15; and four frequencies to launch 737-800 MIA-Manaus service beginning June 14, 2012.
From MIA, AA operates 380 weekly flights to more than 30 destinations in Latin America and Mexico. It operates 65 total weekly flights to Brazil from MIA, New York JFK and Dallas/Fort Worth. "Our proposed new service will give our customers even more travel options to Brazil, Latin America's largest economy," said VP-Government Affairs Will Ris.

American Airlines applied to the US Dept. of Transportation for the right to fly 10 additional weekly frequencies from Miami to destinations in Brazil starting as early as December.

Czech Airlines chiude Cairo
CSA chiude la rotta Praga-Cairo dal 15 maggio.
Ho volato molto spesso su questa tratta, l'ultima volta qualche gg fa e ci volerò tra meno di 1 settimana.
Ho anche altri voli già prenotati in date in cui è cancellato, controllando la prenotazione il mio volo viene dato per annullato ma ancora nessuna alternativa offerta.
CSA chiude la rotta Praga-Cairo dal 15 maggio.

Direi che i modivi delle chiusure sono da trovare tra la precaria situazione economica di CSA unita ai disordini in medio oriente/nord africa che hanno fatto diminuire i pax su queste rotte.
Riguardo i nuovi voli OPO-LAD
Solo tra LIS/OPO e LAD ci sono quasi 500k pax annui O&D, sicuramente saranno oltre queso numero considerando Portogallo e Angola in senso lato. E' un mercato sicuramente molto grande e anche fiorente vedendo le tariffe medie.

Dammam as a result increases from 3 to 5 weekly, while Bahrain sees overall reduction from Daily. Existing 4 weekly nonstop Frankfurt – Bahrain sector is to be resumed from 30OCT11. On Frankfurt – Cairo route, service from 01MAY11 will only operate 1 Daily instead of planned 2 Daily.

Comuqnue.. Egyptair, a parte il taglio di 3 rotte europee marginali, conferma network e frequenze, sono però saltati alcuni incrementi di frequenza previsti da quest'estate, ma grosso modo la situazione resta la stessa se confrontata all'estate scorsa.
