Forte impegno per il rilancio della Thailandia... (11 Dicembre 2008)

...con il ritorno alla piena operativita'.

Con la ripresa a pieno regime del traffico aereo su Bangkok e la revoca dello sconsiglio sulla destinazione (peraltro mai dovuto a questioni di sicurezza bensì alla pacifica occupazione degli aeroporti) da parte della Farnesina, Thai Airways ribadisce il ritorno alla piena operatività: l’operativo invernale della Compagnia prevede voli giornalieri dall’Italia con destinazione Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport così schedulati: partenze da Roma lunedì – mercoledì – venerdì – domenica alle 13:50 con arrivo alle 06:05, da Milano martedì – giovedì – sabato alle 13:30 con arrivo alle 05:55.

Il nuovo segnale di distensione che arriva con la sospensione dello sconsiglio dallo scorso 10 dicembre da parte del Ministero degli Esteri è un ulteriore incoraggiamento a proseguire con la normale programmazione sul Paese intensificando l’impegno per il rilancio sulla destinazione: come Compagnia di bandiera, la THAI prende parte all’intenso piano di recupero pianificato da Governo e Istituzioni thailandesi guardando con fiducia alle strategie che lo stesso Ente Nazionale per il Turismo Thailandese in Italia mira ad attuare.

Intanto qualche scaramuccia tra protrestanti vari c'è sempre a Bangkok...
Lunga vita al re, visto che è "giallo" (ed ecco perchè non si animò troppo con l'invasione di BKK da parte dei "gialli")

il giallo simbolizza,nella tradizione buddista theravada,il lunedi, e per anni tutti a mettere le magliette gialle (soprattutto il giorno del compleanno,il 5 dicembre)

l`anno scorso il Re,appena dimesso da uno dei suoi frequenti ricoveri ando`a trovare la sorella ospedalizzata anche lei (poi deceduta) con una blazer rosa
e tutti a comprare le magliette rosa

ps. il giallo è anche il colore delle divise delle massaggiatrici
che pero`si rifarebbe alla tradizione del wat po,scuola secolare dell`arte...e tempio forse il piu`interessante di bkk

Thai Airways, dal 27 marzo il quarto volo da Milano

Il General Manager della Thai Airways Italia Wit Kitchathorn ha incontrato la stampa per fare il punto sulla situazione della compagnia, dopo gli eventi nel paese del mese scorso, che hanno causato il blocco dei collegamenti aerei tra i due paesi. “La situazione oggi è perfettamente regolare,gli aeroporti funzionanti, il nostro load factor è in linea con il precedente periodo delle festività e si aggira intorno all'80%, con picchi più alti nelle giornate a ridosso del capodanno. Continueremo nella nostra politica di espansione con l'introduzione del quarto volo settimanale da Malpensa a partire dal prossimo 27 marzo. Per incentivare il traffico - ha concluso - abbiamo deciso di prolungare le promozione fino al 31 marzo, come le tariffe su base companion in business class”. Thai ha trasportato 69.315 passeggeri nel periodo gennaio – agosto 2008.

ma per il songkran di italiani che si muovono non sono tanti da giustificare un rinforzo voli..saranno un centinaio (ma sbaglio per eccesso):D:D

inutile dire che con il sito,come consigliato, non funzia
in realtà devi rivolgerti alle agenzie che comprano poi il biglietto da T.O o società vicina a thai,con aggravio di costi e scarsa trasparenza
perchè son sempre malfidente con thai,che,peraltro ,è una ottima compagnia per quanto attiene l`operativo`??????

The board of Thai Airways International yesterday asked management to come up with more cost cuts across the board - including perks to board members - to weather the global economic crisis.

Surachai: Wants plans within a month

The cost reduction is part of an overall survival bid including the delay of deliveries of new jetliners, especially those due in the short term, which the national carrier plans in face of the worsening economic environment.
THAI chairman Surachai Tansitpong, who is also the permanent secretary of the Transport Ministry, said all units of the airline needed to submit cost-trimming details within one month.
He said the cost cuts would be across the entire spectrum of THAI's operation and even the meeting fees and perks given to the airline's board of directors would be looked into.
Earlier this week, Transport Minister Sopon Zarum suggested that perks given to directors and fringe benefits to staff including free air tickets come under close scrutiny.
"Initially, I think that trimming may need to come first from the top level, say board members," he said, noting that possibilities still need to be studied.
In line with the slowdown in air traffic demand and easing financial burdens, the airline's board yesterday instructed management to ask the European manufacturer Airbus to delay the delivery of the six new A330-300 wide-body jets due this year for as long as possible.
The delay would mean that the airline could defer the initial payment for new aircraft, thus providing some relief on financing costs.
Recently, Airbus reportedly agreed with THAI's request to postpone the first payment for the six jets, among eight A330-300s worth at least US$700 million ordered more than a year ago. The first payment will be postponed to April from January and subsequent payments will also be delayed three months.
The airline wants to put off the decommissioning of ageing aircraft, namely six A300-600s and two Boeing 747-300s that have been in use for more than two decades and are supposed to be replaced this year by the new A330-300s.
THAI executives have said all the survival measures adopted earlier to enable it to weather the slump in travel demand and political tensions in Thailand have become meaningless in the aftermath of the recent seizure of Bangkok's two airports by People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) protesters.
The national carrier is bracing for its first loss in 45 years in 2008. The eight-day airport shutdown was estimated to have cost THAI about 20 billion baht in lost revenue and cancellations.
The airline suffered a loss of 6.61 billion baht in the first nine months of 2008, due largely to high fuel prices and the downturn in travel demand.
THAI shares closed yesterday on the Stock Exchange of Thailand at 7.20 baht, down 45 satang, in trade worth 58.1 million baht.

ciao Pinto ho parlato ieri con una mia fonte :D nel regno e mi ha detto che stà iniziando a preoccuparsi per quanto succede a Bangkok ;iniziano a movimentarsi anche altre zone del paese dove il governo attuale ha una forte presenza di elettori e dove le camicie rosse iniziano a protestare per i morti degli scontri di questi giorni ;speriamo bene in agosto avevo intenzione di tornare ...bhe incrociamo le dita ....Sawadee

La situazione in Tailandia sta precipitando, ormai la capitale è nel caos e si rischia la guerriglia. In questo scenario mi sembrano molto probabili se non imminenti delle riduzioni di frequenze o sospensioni di rotte sia da parte di TG che di altre compagnie verso BKK.
