Incident: Emirates A388 over Germany on Nov 18th 2010, engine shut down in flight

An Emirates Airlines Airbus A380-800, registration A6-EDI performing flight EK-18 from Manchester,EN (UK) to Dubai (United Arab Emirates), was enroute at FL390 overhead Germany about 100nm southwest of Berlin,
when the aircraft descended to FL280 and continued the flight to Dubai,
where the airplane landed safely with one engine (GP7270) shut down about an hour behind schedule despite an on time departure.
Listeners on frequency of Kuwait and Dubai reported, that the aircraft arrived in Dubai with one engine inoperative.
Emirates Airlines said: "Emirates flight EK18, on 18th November,
encountered a number two fuel tank pump failure enroute to Dubai.
This had no impact on the safe operation of the flight, and the aircraft continued to Dubai, landing safely one hour behind schedule. The safety of our passengers and crew is of paramount importance and will not be compromised."

Tra l'altro i motori c'entrano meno di niente nel problema riscontrato dall'aeromobile!

sarebbe bello sapere cosa diche il QRH del 380... secondo me continuare per 6 ore con un motore spento non è il massimo....
Sono inconvenienti che succedono niente di grave, però strano che capiti il guasto a una pomba del carburante di un aereo probabilmente nuovissimo entrato in servizio forse qualche mese fa.
I guasti capitano anche all'inizio della vita operativa ed è normale che sia così.

Già con 3 motori si vola ancora bene, purtroppo sono inconvenienti che possono capitare anche ad inizio della operatività di un aeromobile!!!!!!
Sicuramente si, comunque il fault è stato della pompa numero due, non di due pompe! In ogni caso abbastanza fastidioso!

Se quella pompa fosse critica per la sicurezza dell'aereo sarebbe ridondata no ?
no l'ho inserito solo perchè ho notato che le sfighe del 380 sono tante in questi giorni,ma non ne ho fatto una questione di scandalo
Probabilmente si, ma non ho le specifiche competenze per poterlo dire con certezza!
