I visited a good Italian friend for his wedding in Genova last weekend, flying LH Cityline CRJ 900 from MUC.
Our flight back to Munich on sunday was cancelled, because the flight from Munich diverted to Bologna.
Some people from the same flight told me that diversions are common, since Genova needs good visibility and is susceptible to crosswind.
So, is it true that Genoa has lots of diversions?
Another question, I found the airport surprisingly out of time. The terminal reminded me of Cologne Bonn in the 1980s, no traffic at all, 1.6 million people a year is nothing for such a big city and beautiful region. So, why is Genoa airport so unpopular?
