EEA scusa l'OT ma mi scappa una domanda, visto che, in qualche modo, si parla di HNL: come mai per andare nelle Hawaii usate i 737? Sinceramente parlando, dovendo scegliere per questa estate un andata e ritorno LA - Hawaii, vi sto evitando come la peste, perché solo l'idea di farmi sei ore in spazi così angusti mi fa sentire male.
Come mai questa scelta?

Beh, e' la macchina che Network Planning ha ritenuto certamente piu' adatta per tale rotta; gli aeromobili non capitano a caso sulle rotte, ma vengono selezionati in base ad una serie di fattori che "mixati" fra loro determinano la miglior scelta. Nello specifico, il network UA sulle Hawaii e' di gran lunga il piu' consistente e la frequenza dei collegamenti, il revenue generato e il costo sostenuto han fatto si che fosse questa macchina la piu' idonea.
Ho volato lunghe tratte con i nostri 737, nulla da dire. Anzi, meglio un 3-3 che un widebody high density.
...io ho fato un HNL - SFO con 737 UA, un LAX KOA con 757 Delta beh....tutta la vita il 737 UA....ma senza dubbio
anche con i 737 Alaska ho fatto molti voli per le hawaii e mi sono sempre trovato stupendamente...

UNITED Final 737 NG enters service; MAX series on deck
The Boeing 737-800 we put into service Oct. 20 was also the final delivery for us of the NG, or Next Generation, family of the world’s most popular aircraft. The next new 737s we get, starting with 10 next year, will be in the cutting-edge 737 MAX family.
Over the years, Boeing has delivered us a total of 622 737s, starting with a 737-200 model that was delivered in March 1968.
Our active fleet now has 329 737NG aircraft -- 40 737-700s, 141 737-800s, 12 737-900s and 136 737-900ERs. Together, they represent nearly half of our entire mainline fleet.
The final new NG delivery carries the nose number 0542. Its first revenue service was Oct. 20, departing MIA for ORD at 6:38 a.m. ET as Flight 1787.
