SWISS RICEVE IL SUO PRIMO AIRBUS A320 DOTATO DI “SHARKLETS”
Swiss ha preso oggi in consegna il suo primo Airbus A320 dotato di “Sharklets”. L’aereo è arrivato a Zurigo alle 17:24. Come previsto, entrerà in servizio Venerdì 22 marzo, effettuando il suo primo volo commerciale da Zurigo a Ginevra, dove atterrerà intorno alle 7:50. Le Sharklets, alte 2,4 metri, promettono un risparmio di carburante tra l’uno e il quattro per cento (a seconda della lunghezza della rotta), e corrispondenti riduzioni nelle emissioni di CO2. L’aereo equipaggiato con le Sharklets può anche salire più rapidamente, riducendo il rumore a terra. Il nuovo arrivo, che porta le marche di registrazione HB-JLT, diventa il 38° membro della flotta A320 Family (A319/A320/A321) di Swiss. Sarà impiegato su rotte a medio raggio in Europa e verso destinazioni in Africa e Medio Oriente.

Mauro, ti sfrutto il 3d per aggiungere che pure Wizz Air Ukraine ha ricevuto lunedì il suo primo A320 con le sharklets.

New technology saves fuel and helps lowering fares

March 18, Kiev ,Ukraine: Wizz Air Ukraine, the first Ukrainian low-cost airline, announced delivery of a new Airbus А320 aircraft to its hub at Kiev (Zhuliany) Airport. The Airbus А320 has arrived to Kiev this weekend from the Airbus factory in Toulouse, France.

Wizz Air Ukraine’s new Airbus А320 is the first aircraft equipped with sharklets delivered by Airbus to the Ukrainian market. Sharklets are an option on new-build A320 aircraft. Improving the aircraft wings’ aerodynamics, fuel consumption can be reduced by up to 4% and approximately 1,000t CO2 emissions can be saved each year. Aircraft fitted with sharklets can achieve a longer range, which will be used to accomplish Wizz Air Ukraine’s route development plan and connect Ukraine with low fares to new and more distant destinations. A steeper climb and reduced noise levels in the airport areas are further improvements on this state of the art A320. Wizz Air Ukraine already operates the most fuel efficient and greenest fleet in the Ukraine. With the delivery of the 3rd A320, the airline will continue to lead in environmental performance, save costs and lower fares even further.

The third Airbus А320 will start operations on 31 March 2013 with the additional capacity being used to increase the frequency of flights on a number of routes from Kiev and Lviv and to open flights from Donetsk and Kharkiv to Kutaisi on 23 April and 1 July, respectively.

“The delivery of the third Airbus А320 to Ukraine represents yet another step in Wizz Air Ukraine’s development of the local market according to the development plan announced in January 2013 and submitted to Ukrainian aviation authorities. We invest in the most efficient and innovative technologies, and this new aircraft delivery will help us to lower fares even further in the Ukraine market”, Akos Bus, Wizz Air Ukraine General Director said.

Nessun problema ad aprire un thread così, visto che si tratta dei primi arrivi in giro per il mondo. Magari il titolo non tutto maiuscolo :)
 
L' A320-214 consegnato ieri a SWISS è il 24° e ultimo aereo di questo tipo nella flotta della compagnia basilese. Il più anziano ancora in servizio è l' HB-IJB costruito nel 1995, consegnato a Swissair, venduto a Turkish e riacquistato da SWISS con l'immatricolazione svizzera originale.
