SkyEurope carried 227,051 passengers in January 2008, an increase of 23.4% versus January 2007
06. 02. 2008
SkyEurope transported a total of 227,051 passengers in January 2008, an increase of 23.4% compared to the same month of last year. SkyEurope recorded a load factor of 58.4% due to a 53.4% increase in seat capacity versus January 2007 and a focus on continuous yield growth. The increase in seat capacity has been accomplished by better utilising the new larger 737-700NG aircraft. “Our newly-introduced short-haul business schedule is generating lower load factors in the short-term but stronger yields in line with our strategy. Our load factors from February onwards currently look strong and bookings are good, so we do not see the January numbers as indicative of a trend, but merely a short-term product of our new strategy” said Jason Bitter, CEO of SkyEurope.
In the 12 months ended January 2008, the Company carried 3,618,074 passengers, an increase of 29.4% compared to the same period of last year. The load factor in the past 12 months increased by 2.5 percentage points and reached 78.3%.
