SINGAPORE: Singapore and Iceland have concluded an open skies agreement under which airlines from both countries have the full flexibility to operate air services between and beyond both countries.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) said the agreement with Iceland is also more liberal than conventional ones.
It allows for unlimited hubbing rights or seventh freedom traffic rights for both passenger and cargo services.
With this, Singapore carriers may use these rights to base aircraft in any point in Iceland and use the point as a hub for operations to third countries. This also applies to carriers from Iceland.
To date, Singapore has concluded more than 30 bilateral open skies agreements.
