SIA To Order Eight More Boeing 777-300ERs

10 August 2011 - Singapore Airlines has agreed to order eight more Boeing 777-300ERs to support growth plans for the years ahead.


Deliveries of the new aircraft are scheduled to begin in the 2013/14 financial year. They will be operated by Singapore Airlines on medium and long-haul routes. The order is valued at USD2.3 billion at list prices.

Powered by General Electric GE90 engines, the aircraft will join 19 B777-300ERs already in service. They will be configured in a three-class layout featuring the Airline’s latest cabin product and service offerings.

“These additional B777-300ERs will help support our ongoing programme to further strengthen the Singapore Airlines network, providing more travel options to our customers,” said SIA CEO Mr Goh Choon Phong.

“The order is in line with our longstanding policy of operating a young and modern fleet. This enables us to offer our latest cabin products which have proven extremely popular with our customers.”

Singapore Airlines’ fleet comprises 106 widebody aircraft from Airbus and Boeing. With the agreement for eight additional B777-300ERs, SIA will have firm purchase or lease orders with the two manufacturers for another 70 aircraft.

(Wishful thinking) Ne servirebbero almeno un paio anche ad AZ...
 
AZ Fanatic hai pienamente ragione però qui si parla di Singapore Airlines che dal canto suo potrebbe pure sbagliarsi ad aumentare le frequenze su FCO, 'cci sua :D
 
Ho fatto una leggera digressione (con premessa) visto che il 77W ce lo vedo particolarmente bene in AZ. Ecchecavolo non ci vedo niente di male, fatemi sognare pure a me ogni tanto no?

Tornando sul pezzo, impressiona il fatto che SIA abbia ancora in ordine 70 a/m (Airbus + Boeing) e tutti widebody.

No no per carità, io poi concordo con te lo sai... E' solo che altrimenti poi andrebbe a finire con l'ennesima pappardella di tutti gli amministratori delegati presenti in questo forum :D
