Premessa:
Oltre ad operare voli tramite mainline, SAS utilizza velivoli (<100 seats) operati da CityJet (CRJ9) e Xfly (CRJ9 e AT72).

In aggiunta a queste due società, da qualche anno SAS opera una sussidiaria di diritto irlandese con un AOC dedicato.
La società, creata nel 2017, venne chiamata SAS Ireland, ed opera con A320neo (low cost, high competition routes).

Recentmente, SAS ha annunciato la creazione di due nuove società, ognuna con il proprio AOC.
SAS Connect, che rileva l'AOC di SAS Ireland, e SAS Link.

Notizia:
SAS Link, a differenza di SAS Connect, è un'entità totalmente nuova (100-160 seats, la società, non gli aerei ), che opererà con 6 E195.
Per SAS si tratta di un costruttore e di una famiglia di velivoli nuovi.
Gli E195 dovrebbero essere un mix di ex Flybee e Great Dane Airlines.

Sembrerebbe che questi velivoli siano un rimpiazzo per i B737-600/700 e A319, in attesa di un ordine per E2 o A220, forse posticipato al prossimo anno.

Una delle basi potrebbe essere Bergen con 3 aerei.

Avranno circa 136 posti e colmeranno il vuoto tra CRJ/ATR e A320.

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has entered into an agreement to acquire 45 Embraer (NYSE: ERJ; B3: EMBR3) E195-E2 aircraft, with purchase rights for an additional 10 aircraft — the largest SAS jet order direct from a manufacturer since 1996. This milestone agreement supports SAS’ long-term fleet renewal strategy, which is focused on increasing efficiency, reducing emissions, and unlocking future growth opportunities from its global hub in Copenhagen as well as across its Scandinavian and international network.

The first aircraft deliveries from Embraer are scheduled to begin in late 2027, with further deliveries extending over approximately four years. Excluding purchase rights, the value for the order is approximately US$4 billion.

The E195-E2 will play a vital role in optimizing SAS’ operations and enhancing connectivity across Scandinavia and Europe. Its size and range are ideally suited to complement SAS’ existing fleet and route structure, allowing for more frequencies, better network flexibility, and lower trip costs.
