Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) along with Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt Int'l) and Emirates (EK, Dubai Int'l) will be allowed to operate their A380-800s into India after the Ministry of Civil Aviation lifted a ban on the aircraft. However, Delhi has underscored that the use of the A380 will still be governed by provisions laid down by the country's Bilateral Air Service Agreements. “Now, flights of A380 to India will be allowed to airports which are equipped to handle them,” the aviation ministry told India's Live Mint in a statement. At present, only four Indian airports are capable of handling the jet namely: Delhi Int'l, Mumbai Int'l, Hyderabad Int'l and Bangalore Int'l. The decision to lift the ban was taken after consultations with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
