Emirates-CEO Tim Clark told "Handelsblatt" that the carrier is considering increasing its worldwide network in the future in which Europe should play an important role.
Potential new target destinations such as Copenhagen and Madrid and more frequencies to other existing routes are under evaluation, he says.
He also refers that for years EK tried to start Berlin and Stuttgart service as well as increasing DUS/HAM/MUC/FRA routes in Germany. This has never been materialized since no traffic rights have been granted to EK by German government (with complicity of Lufthansa).
He hopes to obtain something more with the BBI's airport opening in 2011.

Potrebbe essere un risultato dell'accordo siglato a Montreal qualche giorno fa su una progressiva liberalizzazione dei diritti di traffico.
Sono sicuro che EK farebbe piú di un pensierino a volare su una quarta cittá
(BLQ?) italiana se potessero, e magari con questa evoluzione inattesa si aprono tanti nuovi possibili scenari.

L'ho detto anche io piú volte... ma mi sono sempre sentito rispondere che non era possibile per via dei bilaterali, ora che si potrebbero allentare siete d'accordo che BLQ potrebbe avere senso?

Emirates Airline has announced plans to launch services to its second destination in Japan with flights to Tokyo beginning March 28, 2010. The carrier, which currently flies daily to Osaka, will fly non-stop to Tokyo five times a week on every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tokyo will be Emirates' 102nd international destination.

Finalmente Tokio ma solo 5x week, un po pochino... Mancano gli slot a NRT? Sicuramente la DXB-NRT visto l'elevato traffico è una rotta da 380

Concordissimo. Ma non lo pianificano ancora perché dipende dalle consegne e con quelli che avranno disponibili a Marzo hanno giá pianificato altre rotazioni. Molto probabile che nel corso del 2010 lo upgradino.
