Possibile matrimonio Lufthansa - Turkish Airlines


Non credo dai! Diventerebbe la prima potenza Europea riguardo l' aviazione! Dopo bisognerebbe fondere AZ-AF e KL in un' unica compagnia per reggere il confronto!
 
A parte il pessimo articolo che è a metà fra uno spot pubblicitario ed una bozza non ancora corretta, curiosamente e casualmente ci pensavo proprio qualche giorno fa.
Un grosso player mondiale che ha qualche problemino a far quadrare i conti, una realtà che si sta prepotentemente affermando negli ultimi anni, due paesi con molti legami... perchè no?

Perchè fonti più autorevoli parlano di "joint management" e dubito che i tedeschi si pieghino a quelli di Turkish, specialmente considerando la loro già attuale potenza di fuoco (Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, Brussels e Germanwings).

Convengo che è un pessimo articolo che ha toni ridicolmente esaltati e con non pochi errori. In ogni caso la notizia c'è: in Svizzera per esempio è citata dappertutto riguardando i... grandi vicini del nord. L'informazione è però data con cautela. I rapporti fra Germania e Turchia sono anche (in un lontano passato) storici ma, si dice, la Turchia ha abitanti quasi come la Germania, in Germania vi sono 3,5 milioni di cittadini turchi (o di origine turca) e la Turchia (molto importante questo) è tenuta fuori dall'UE proprio dalle Germania. Un accordo importante come quello fra le due compagnie avrebbe dunque una forte valenza "politica"...
 
Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines consider 'joint management'

German chancellor Angela Merkel reportedly proposed "joint management" of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines (THY) in a meeting with Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Berlin last week.​
Although Erdogan told local media that he had agreed to the proposal, neither party has outlined a precise plan for cooperation.​
In 1989, THY and Lufthansa set up a joint venture called SunExpress. The Antalya-based airline has expanded its fleet to 30 aircraft, according to Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database, including Frankfurt-based subsidiary SunExpress Deutschland.​
Relations between the two flag carriers were further strengthened by THY’s entrance to the Star Alliance in 2008, with Lufthansa taking on an advisory role during membership negotiations.​
THY chief executive Temel Kotil says he was informed of the latest discussions by Erdogan following the meeting in Berlin.​
"It’s good to get such an improvement from the government side in Germany. This shows the development of Turkish Aviation in the last 10 years," he says, adding that Istanbul’s new airport - targeting an annual capacity of 100 million by 2016 - will advance the city’s hub aspirations.​
"But the main decision will be taken during the annual meeting of THY," Kotil stresses. "According to the available information, Lufthansa and THY will clarify their position in the next five months."​
Lufthansa spokesman Klaus Walther was more cautious in his remarks, saying: "We are always in talks about how we can further improve and intensify the cooperation between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines for the benefit of our customers."​
Merkel’s proposal comes at a time when Lufthansa is seeking to overhaul its operations with a €1.5 billion ($1.92 billion) cost-cutting programme, which contributed to an improved third quarter operating profit of €648 million. THY more than doubled its second quarter profit to $90 million.

Mi auguro di no per TK onestamente. Hanno ottimi piani e secondo me diventeranno un forte leader globale senza bisogno di LH.

ISTANBUL - Turkish Airlines will begin talks on furthering its cooperation with Germany's Lufthansa next month, the Turkish flag carrier's chairman Hamdi Topcu told broadcaster NTV on Tuesday evening.
Speculation about plans for deepening ties between the two airlines was triggered this month when Turkish prime minister Tayyip Erdogan said he had agreed with German chancellor Angela Merkel to "joint management" of the companies.
Turkish finance minister Mehmet Simsek said on Tuesday a secondary public offering or a block sale was "not on the agenda" of the Turkish government but that the two companies were working on increasing cooperation.
"We will begin talks from next month on how we can advance our cooperation," Mr Topcu said in an interview.
