INVESTMENT TRUST TO AQUIRE MAJOR STAKE IN OCEAN AIRLINES
Ocean Airlines advise that a major Investment by a leading European Private Equity Fund is scheduled completion by February 15th . The investment includes Euro 35 million of new capital and acceleration of the investment programme in new aircraft to expand the Ocean fleet to not less than 7 operational freighters by Spring 2009.
“This is excellent news” - Said Ocean C.E.O Rossano De Luca. “It will enable the Airline to re-commence operations to the great benefit of all concerned. The Ocean Board and Management feel very confident that the Airline can now move ahead to fulfill its plans originally envisaged in the planned IPO last July. L'AIM market di Londra è un mercato particolare in cui principalmente aziende nuove o cmq giovanissime di piccole dimensioni si quotano per reperire i capitali per i progetti di start up o crescita.
Non è l'ambiente tipico dove scaricare "la sola" a qualcuno. Poi le fregature succedono ovunque.

08-Feb-2008 : THE Italian courts have ordered Ocean airlines to be wound up due to insolvency, according to unconfirmed reports from Italy.
However chief executive officer, Rossano de Luca, denied the story, stating: “A major investment by a leading European private equity fund is scheduled for completion by 15 February. The investment includes Euro 35 million of new capital and acceleration of the investment programme in new aircraft to expand the fleet to not less than seven freighters by Spring 2009.”
Previous promises of funding however have failed to materialise, and de Luca admits that if the deal is not completed by 15 February, the airline will be wound up.
