Turchia: muore co-pilota, aereo inglese fa atterraggio d'emergenza

LONDRA - Un aereo britannico della Gb Airways e' stato costretto a un atterraggio d'emergenza a Istanbul perche' il co-pilota e' morto durante il volo. A bordo c'erano 150 passeggeri, il velivolo era partito da Manchester con destinazione Cipro. Secondo Gb Airways, i passeggeri non hanno corso alcun rischio. (Agr)

Il comandante è tranquillamente in grado di portarsi l'aereo a terra da solo...

Credo che in caso di "Pilot Incapacitation" tu sia obbligato a chiedere l'atterraggio d'emergenza
 
forse è una prassi...del defunto per legge credo che devono attestare la morte e provare a rianimare...oh potrebbe essere anche che il capitano era shokkato e mentalmente non lucido da affrontare il volo! [xx(]
 
Dal manuale di una delle principali compagnie europee:

An emergency must be declared unless the presence of extra crew members renders such action unnecessary in the judgment of the pilot-in-command.

In linea di massima, il principio è: se viene a mancare una ridondanza durante il volo di un aereo, si dichiara l'emergenza (KO un motore su due, KO due generatori su 3, KO un pilota su 2...).

You may be aware that last night (Sunday) a GB Airways flight from Manchester to Paphos was diverted into Istanbul due to a medical emergency on the flight deck. Sadly, the First Officer on the flight passed away.


easyJet Chief Executive Andy Harrison has passed on the following thoughts: “The condolences of everyone at easyJet are with the family of the pilot and all of his colleagues at GB. The management team at GB are supporting his family throughout this difficult period and we at easyJet will assist and support them in any way possible.”


At the request of his family, no personal details will be released for the moment. We respectfully ask all easyJet employees who may know the identity of the first officer to observe the wishes of the family affected by this tragic news by not revealing his name in any forum.


Passengers on the flight have spent the night in a hotel and the flight will depart to Paphos with a replacement crew later today.
 
Un pensiero per il pilota e per i famigliari che lascia.

In secondo piano, in quanto poco importante rispetto all'evento luttuoso, è da apprezzare la professionalità di easjet che si nota nella lettera per i dipendenti.
