[h=4]Ukraines main news[/h] [h=1]Kolesnikov says arrival of low-cost company Ryanair in Ukraine will reduce prices for hotel rooms[/h] Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov has said he believes that prices for hotels in Ukraine will fall during the Euro 2012 European Football Championship after one of the largest low-cost airlines in Europe, Ireland's Ryanair, enters the Ukrainian market.

"I think that this problem will be resolved by the end of April. First, we are completing an agreement with Ryanair on its entry to the Ukrainian market, and all fans will be able to calculate the cost of a flight for every match and stay in Ukraine. And the price will be in favor of aviation. I think that price will significantly fall from that moment. It takes three-and-a-half hours to fly from London to Donetsk, and a round-trip ticket will cost $300. England will play three group stage matches in Ukraine. That it, total expenditures would be $900, if you just fly for every match. If the price of a hotel room costs more than $200, then it would be a lot more expensive to live here for ten days. I think that this will quickly cool the ardor of our hotels," he told English journalists during their visit to the Donbass Arena stadium in Donetsk on Thursday, the club's press service reported.
As reported, during his visit to Lviv on April 12, UEFA President Michel Platini expressed concern over the high prices set by Ukrainian hotels for accommodation during the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.
"We're a bit worried about the increase of prices in Ukrainian hotels, but there are authorities, which, I hope, will manage to resolve this issue," he said.
The UEFA president said that "it's impossible to raise prices for hotel rooms from EUR 40 to EUR 100 and then to EUR 500." Some media quoted Platini that he described such owners of hotels as "thugs and crooks."
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych earlier ordered Deputy Prime Minister Borys Kolesnikov and Economic Development and Trade Minister Petro Poroshenko to take measures to bring prices for hotel services to an economically justified level, including during the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship in Ukraine.
