KLM introduce il bagaglio da stiva a pagamento sui voli Europei


La mossa viene giustificata dal fatto che, a detta loro, il 60-70% dei clienti viaggia, sul ptp europeo, solo col bagaglio a mano. Pertanto, vogliono proporre tariffe più basse per il solo passaggio aereo (senza checked bag).
 
Sono andato ad Amsterdam due volte negli ultimi quattro mesi, comprando il biglietto un mese prima della partenza in entrambi i casi, e in entrambi i casi ho utilizzato Alitalia e KLM proprio perchè il bagaglio lo potevo portare e il prezzo era grossomodo lo stesso di easyJet. E di persone con il bagaglio stivato ce n'erano veramente tante!

O tariffe più alte per il passeggero con checked bag?:)
 
Sul sito ufficiale di KLM dicono che applicheranno la tariffa di 99EUR a/r su più di 30 destinazioni europee, il che significa che comunque le tariffe aumenteranno, in quanto ad esempio, mentre ora si trovano diverse destinazioni europee a 99EUR in promo con bagaglio incluso, in seguito se si opterà per la tariffa base più bagaglio si arriverà a pagare 129EUR (99+15+15), per l'a/r con bagaglio incluso. Inoltre non bisogna dimenticarsi che ci sono 10EUR da aggiungere come booking fee, più le spese per eventuale pagamento con carta di credito, almeno qui in Olanda le applicano. Io proprio per queste ragioni, le booking fees e spese per l'utilizzo della carta di credito, e la qualità del servizio, da qualche anno preferisco AZ a KL sulla AMS-LIN, lo stesso dicasi per molti miei amici expat, che scelgono ad hoc i voli AF, AZ, LH, etc, predefendole a KL per le stesse ragioni.

Una policy del tipo americano... con la differenza che, da quanto mi sembra, non richiedano status particolari ai membri Flying Blue.

Uh è vero, non avevo visto che l'Italia era esente da queste nuove regole, chiedo venia :o
 
ma per i c/s come si organizzano? cioè se io volo su un aereo alitalia con biglietto KLM dovrò comunque pagare i 15euro di bagaglio?
la mia "paura" è che ora tutte le altre major adotteranno la stessa strategia tariffaria
 
Sono capitato su questo post praticamente un anno dopo la pubblicazione :) Comunque, ho prenotato da poco un volo europeo con scalo ad AMS. Il bagaglio da 23 kg è incluso nel prezzo di biglietto: anzi, risulta essere davvero generosa la franchigia anche per il bagaglio a mano. Sul sito KLM è scritto che i passeggeri Flying blue ne sono esenti. Io sono Skymiles Delta e l'altro pax che viaggia con me non è iscritto ad alcun programma. Abbiamo bagaglio in abbondanza per ciascuno!
 
New baggage rules for Ivory members

18 June 2014 | On European KLM flights booked per 1 October 2014, Flying Blue Ivory members will be able to bring hand baggage free of charge only. On KLM.com, Ivory members can then bring a suitcase for EUR 7.50 or 1500 Miles – if arranged on KLM.com.

For KLM flights, you have the choice to reserve extra options such as our extra comfortable seat types. This way, we can keep our ticket prices nice and lean.

The same goes for baggage on our European flights. After all, many travellers within Europe travel lightly - with hand baggage only. And why pay for something you don’t use?

Until now, all Flying Blue members could check in at least 1 suitcase for free on any KLM flight.

To continue keeping our tickets nicely priced, Ivory Flying Blue members will be able to take only hand baggage free of charge on European flights that are booked on or after 1 October on KLM.com. They can check in a suitcase for just EUR 7.50 per one-way, if arranged on KLM.com. Paying with Miles is also possible.

The new rules apply to tickets that are issued on or after 1 October – so if you book through a travel agent, please check with them when booking before that date.

Silver, Gold or Platinum Flying Blue members on any KLM flight, and everyone travelling on an intercontinental KLM flight, can continue to check in at least 1 bag for free – both in Economy Class and Business Class.

What’s my baggage allowance?
In a nutshell, here’s what Ivory Flying Blue members can expect from European KLM flights booked on or after 1 October 2014:


•1 hand bag and 1 accessory (combined up to 12 kg!) you can continue to bring for free in the cabin
•You can bring a suitcase for EUR 7.50 (one way) if arranged on KLM.com. In My Trip or when checking in on KLM.com you can also pay with 1500 Miles. The airport fee will be EUR 15 (one way).

On all European (and intercontinental) KLM flights that you book before 1 October 2014, Ivory members can check in 1 suitcase free of charge. If you’d like to take more, you can also arrange this at a 20% discount on KLM.com.
