[h=2]A passenger airplane has crashed outside Almaty in Kazakhstan, 20 peole killed.[/h]
The airplane that crashed outside Almaty in Kazakhstan on Tuesday was carrying 15 passengers and 6 crew members, a source familiar with the situation told Interfax.
An Almaty emergency situations department spokesman told Interfax earlier on Tuesday that the aircraft crashed between the Kulzha highway and the village of Kyzyltu.

Narrative:
A Canadair CRJ-200 was reportedly involved in an accident near Almaty, Kazakhstan, reportedly killing all aboard.
Flight DV760 operated on a domestic flight from Kokshetau Airport (KOV) to Almaty (ALA). It reportedly came down near the village of Kyzyltu, to the northeast of the Almaty Airport.

Crash: Scat CRJ2 at Almaty on Jan 29th 2013, impacted ground near airport

A Scat Airlines Canadair CRJ-200, registration UP-CJ006 performing flight DV-760 from Kokshetau to Almaty (Kazakhstan) with 16 passengers and 5 crew, was on final approach to Almaty's runway 23R in poor visibility due to fog when the crew decided to go around but the aircraft disappeared from radar screens at 13:13L (07:13Z). The aircraft was found in swampy terrain about 1km short of the runway threshold at around 14:00L. All occupants perished.

The passenger and crew manifest lists 21 names (16 passengers and 5 crew, a lap child's name was later added).

Kazakhstan's emergency ministry reported 16 passengers (including one child) and 5 crew were killed in the crash near the village Kyzyltu (about 1km northwest of the approximate final position, see map below).

Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport and Communication reported the aircraft involved was UP-CJ006 (MSN: 7413), which had accumulated 25,707 flight hours in 22,975 flight cycles since new, the aircraft had joined Scat Airlines' fleet in September 2012 and had received its last certificate of airworthiness on Sep 20th 2012. An investigation commission has been formed to investigate the causes of the crash.

In weather conditions of freezing fog and reduced visibility, the Canadar Regional Jet crashed on final approach to Almaty Airport leaving all 21 on board dead. Casualty numbers vary between 22 and 21. More news to come...
