Iberia's largest shareholder, Caja Madrid, said British Airways will have to bring something "significant" to the carrier or it might leave oneworld and look to join another alliance, Reuters reported. "Iberia does not need to change partners. It does not need capital," Caja Madrid Chairman Miguel Blesa said. "Iberia needs a good alliance--a stable alliance with a big operator. There are three: British, Lufthansa or Air France." He added that "if British [Airways] offers something significant to the future of the company during conversations that have just started, it would appear a perfect agreement. If not, we will look for other alliances."

Sarebbe un bel colpo...
Star ha già Spanair per il mercato spagnolo e TAP per quello sud-americano. In SkyTeam magari IB avrebbe margini di crescita maggiori specialmente per quanto riguarda il sud-america dove Sky è carente e potrebbe quindi diventare il vettore di riferimento per tale regione...

C'è da dire però che SkyTeam ha già Air Europa (che è in piena espansione)...quindi mi sa che almeno che Iberia non venga comprata la LH o AF-KLM non cambierà alleanza...in ogni caso per Latinoamérica Iberia offre già più frequenze dall'Europa di qualsiasi altra compagnia, proprio non c'è paragone con TAP...
