Lufthansa and its newly-acquired UK operation BMI are to resume a partnership between their affiliated budget carriers Germanwings and BMIbaby.
While the two carriers forged an initial co-operation pact in 2004, a spokesman for Germanwings says this was subsequently suspended.
The rekindled partnership will essentially provide the same cross-linked Internet booking service, giving passengers access to 42 European routes.
"Partnering with BMIbaby increases our presence in the UK market," says Germanwings chief Thomas Winkelmann.
Germanwings formed a similar partnership with now-defunct Polish budget airline Centralwings.
