Eurowings apre base a Vienna: nuova rotta per Roma

Eurowings volerà da Vienna a partire da novembre, prevista una tratta su Roma

Roma, Barcellona, Londra Stansted e Palma di Majorca sono le 4 destinazioni scelte per il debutto di Eurowings dallo scalo di Vienna.

La sussidiaria di Lufthansa posizionerà un primo A320 sull’aeroporto austriaco il prossimo autunno per poi raddoppiare con un secondo nel corso della primavera del 2016.

L’operativo prevede tre collegamenti settimanali con la capitale italiana, mentre il volo su Londra sarà operato sei volte alla settimana. L’avvio delle rotte è previsto per il prossimo 9 novembre. TTG

Lufthansa LCC Eurowings to begin first flights from Vienna Nov. 9

Lufthansa’s low-cost subsidiary Eurowings will begin flights from Austria Nov. 9 with an Airbus A320 based in Vienna.

Eurowings will operate routes to Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, as well as 6X-weekly services to London Stansted Airport and 3X-weekly flights to Rome. It plans to base a second aircraft in Vienna from spring 2016.

“I expect to have at least four A320s in Vienna,”Lufthansa chairman and CEO Carsten Spohr told ATW in a recent interview. These aircraft will be operated by Austrian Airlines from Vienna.

Eurowings’ pan-European fleet will operate under two Austrian AOCs.

Spohr told ATW that Eurowings should operate a fleet of at least 100 aircraft in the future and should grow quickly to that size.

Eurowings operated its maiden flight Feb. 1 from Hamburg to Prague, with its first 162-seat Airbus A320.

Spero per orari accettabili, alcuni anni fà Austrian partiva da Roma anche la mattina.
secondo me è un' ottima compagnia anche se viene messa in seconda parte dal gruppo che fa parte.
 
Eurowings (EW, Dusseldorf) has requested B767 and B777 operational permits as well as ETOPS authorization for its nascent Austrian subsidiary according to a report by Austrian Aviation Net. The carrier, founded as Eurowings Europe GmbH, is currently undergoing certification with the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT) and expects to launch operations to Barcelona El Prat, London Stansted, Palma de Mallorca Son Sant Joan, and Rome Fiumicino on November 9 using a pair of A320-200s wet-leased from Austrian.


Despite the application, Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna) spokesman Peter Thier has told Austrian Aviation Net that Eurowings has no plans to operate longhaul flights out of Austria for the time being.


Last year, Austrian's ex-CEO Jaan Albrecht said the board had considered repositioning their carrier as a budget airline operating under the name "Austrian Wings". As with Eurowings, Austrian Wings would have leveraged its lower cost base to deploy its fleet of six B767-300(ER)s on longhaul leisure flights albeit out of Vienna.

Eurowings Expands Vienna Operation in S16

Eurowings in expanding operations for its Vienna base at the start of summer 2016 season, including the launch to Alicante, Bastia, Faro and Valencia. In addition, based on latest schedule listing, the airline will be operating its own Airbus A320 aircraft from 25MAR16, instead of Austrian aircraft.

Reservations for expanded service and new routes opened today.

Aggiornamento: la partenza della nuova rotta Roma-Vienna di Eurowings prevista per fine ottobre viene rinviata all' inzio della summer a fino marzo 2016. Al contrario la rotta Vienna-Londra STN viene aumentata da 6 a 9x week sfruttando le frequenze non utilizzate per Roma.

Con questo cambiamento questo inverno sulla Roma-Vienna avremo un drastico calo dei voli:

Eurowings rinviata la partenza

Restano operative solo Niki, Vueling e Austrian passando da cosi 6 compagnie sulla rotta a solo 3.

Idem per Lisbona (pur avendo codeshare con TAP). E durante una delle varie ristrutturazioni aveva chiuso anche Zurigo, poi riaperta.

Alitalia chiude la FCO-VIE nell' ambito degli accordi con l'alleanza Etihad, lasciando attivo il cs con Niki. Stessa cosa farà sulla LIN-VIE. In questo modo Alitalia abbandona l'Austria.
 
Eurowings Europe to hire 600 employees

Lufthansa Group low-cost (LCC) subsidiary Eurowings Europe will hire 600 crewmembers as its fleet expands to 19 Airbus A320s by the end of 2017.
A Lufthansa spokesperson told ATW, “We are looking for 400 cabin crew members, as well 100 captains and 100 first officers.”
Eurowings Europe will have an air operator’s certificate in Austria. Two A320s will be based in Vienna. Other bases in Europe are under evaluation.
Lufthansa has established Eurowings as a pan-European LCC platform, which should grow quickly to 100 aircraft as competition from LCCs such EasyJet, Ryanair, and Vueling rise to a 50% market share in Europe.
In November 2015, the Lufthansa Group invited airlines to join Eurowings as franchise companies.

Eurowings Adds Egypt Service from Nov 2016

Eurowings in winter 2016/17 season is launching new service to Egypt, with once weekly operation on Vienna – Marsa Alam flight. First flight commences on 05NOV16, on board Airbus A320 aircraft. Marsa Alam is a new destination within the Lufthansa Group on scheduled basis in W16.
