Our best financial year ever. Yet, it was not without its challenges: global flight disruption from the ash cloud of Eyjafjallajökull volcano; airport-closing snowfalls in Western Europe, the UK and the US; continued political instability in many parts of the world; destructive earthquakes in New Zealand; the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan; and in addition, increased aeropolitical pressure and rising jet fuel prices. This operating environment severely tested our ability to effectively manage the different facets of our business. The Emirates Group passed that test with undeniable success.

cioè fatemi capire : Emirates possiede (intendo proprietà) solamente 3 degli aerei passeggeri che ha in flotta??? Tutto il resto della flotta sembra essere dunque in leasing (financial e operating..che differenze ci sono?)

Pare di si, peraltro fa sempre una certa impressione vedere che oltre alla "flottina" attuale, ci sono in ordine 75 A380, 70 A350-900/1000 e 48 77W...
Per quanto riguarda il leasing operativo, finanziario e lease back, ho trovato questo riassunto ben fatto e molto comprensibile:
